2001 Big Bear 400 4WD - Battery Removal any tips

The battery on my Big Bear drops completely down in the battery compartment nothing sticks up to grip too, plus there is only 1/8" clearance along the sides, no way to get a grip on it to pull up out of battery compartment. I thought about putting a piece nylon strap under the battery and leaving enough up each side to give me something to pull it up out ff the battery compartment or using a big zip tie around the battery.

Any others have any ideas or have had this issue.

It is tight on the side i have done it several ways, you can usually get a couple of fingers on the top and pull up but easy to loose your grip and it will fall back down it is very heavy. You can pry up one side with a screwdriver and get a grip on it and pull it up, but dont pry against the plastic may crack use a board under it.. If you are replacing it get pliers on each terminal and pull up, but i dont pull on the terminals with the new battery dont want to change them breaking loose.

I have an 02 and I have to use shear finger strength to get the battery out.  Heavy and tight fit.

I've made a 2" polyethylene strap that goes around the battery and gets you a good handle. Polyethylene is more acid and corrosion resistant than most other strapping materiel. I'll post picture when I get a chance. Would have used a large zip tie, but all the larger zip ties I found were nylon which is not acid resistant, a large zip tie  would would do the same
