My inside sources at Honda have told me that the new 450 will have an all new aluminum frame, EFI, improved geometry, and all new suspension. It should be out in 2010 unless they run into technical issues. The new 450R should put Honda back on top where they belong.

HA! as much as imma honda lover, i doubt that statement. but if they are anywhere on par with KTM models at a decent price then it might be a great quad for the money.

What im hoping honda does is:

1) follow yamaha's lead and have the standard 450r and mx ready 450r

2) on the mx 450r im lookin for

---A) 50inch stance

---B) decently adjustable LT shocks(with either ZPS or dual rate springs) and Aarms (like the yfz450r and LTR)

---C) stock HRC package

---D) the reliable honda engine that we have come to know and love.

3) on the standard 450r

---A) BETTER and SOFTER shocks!

---B) narrow xc stance

---C) stock HRC package

---D) and the engine stated above

Just what i think honda should do.

askin a bit much?? LOL

I love our Hondas, but I do agree, they are not on par with the rest of the manufacturers right now...a softer suspension would totally be nice...I actually run Nick's 450 shocks on my quad.....but I did have them rebuilt because they were stiff...a better frame would be nice...Nick's 450 has 2 race seasons on it, although it is an 08 model, and the frame is already bent!

I like the way the 09 450 looks..hopefully they'll keep that up for 2010...maybe that's when I can get a new quad :):)

When I said put them back on top, I didn't mean stomping KTM. I meant being one of the top makers with a top performer. I personally am sick of all the companies catering to the MX rider. They should be designing quads for the masses. And the majority of riders are trail/XC style riders. I like the idea of having two models but not like Yamaha. Dump all this money into their MX quad and leave the previous model as their XC version. JMHO

I rebuilt the carb on said machine. When I hook up the auxiliary gas tank it runs fine and everything is cool. When I put the fuel tank on and hooked up the lines, it completely flooded the cylinder and even about an inch of fuel in the air box. I'm pretty sure that it comes from the little hose on the petcock and hooks to the top of the carb. WTH is that even for? I mean the thing runs fine on the auxiliary tank, so idk And on the petcock when it's in the "on" position, I get no fuel. The petcock from the bike I took it apart and checked out how it operates. The sharpie marks indicate how it really works. Now the other petcock w/o the sharpie marks is an old one that was leaking that I removed from a Polaris quad. It's exactly the same thing, except the small hose and nipple have been removed. I'm so confused, LOL

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?
