I was wondering what are the lwas against three wheelers? A neighbor has a really problem with them and has called the police on me a friend. He said they are illeigla to buy and sell. I don't think they are illegial to buy and sell. I do know they are illegial to manufactor and that's why they stopped making them. Also know they are illeigal to ride on paved roads. But what are the other laws against them? Are they illeigl to buy and sell?

What size cc motor?

The only law you will be facing is due to your age.

Michigan

State Laws:

* All riders (operator and passengers) must wear a helmet and eye protection at all times.

* All ATVs must be titled.

* All ATVs must be registered unless used solely on an operator�s private land; renewal is once every year.

* Children under 16 years old must have a safety training certificate and be under the direct visual supervision of an adult.

* No one under 16 may operate a three-wheeled ATV.

* No one under 10 may operate an ATV except while performing farm work.

* No one under 12 may cross a highway or street on an ATV.

* No passengers are allowed on the ATV unless it is designed to carry more than one person.

* ATV use on highways is prohibited, except to cross these roads, although operators are permitted to drive on highway shoulders.

* No ATV shall be operated without a lighted headlight and taillight from � hour after sunset to � hour before sunrise.

Ok well I pass most of those. When I bought the three wheeler, I didn't come with a title. Should I try to get one reissued? Can you get one reissued? And what would you say...just ride it and be careful since I am under 16?

Trikes are not Illegal to buy or Sell....Never have been...Its a popular misconception...The Big Three Back in 1987 Came to an Agreement to Discontinue Manufacturing the Trikes for 20yrs....There were Getting their ARSE's Sued off because (Mainly Parents) were saying that they were to Dangerous to ride and hurting Children....Well,,,,,What happens when you put an 8 yr old on a 250R???? Sooo,,,,The 20 yrs has been up for a few....Ive seen new Trikes....Trike Kits available now....Honda, Kaw, Suzie, and Yamaha WILL NOT be triking though......:no:

Next time your Neighbor starts Crap.....Tell him your an Outlaw Triker and to Stand Back cause you cant predict what that Dangerous Trike will do!!!

BTW......Just take the Vin# in to your local Cop Shop and have them Run it....Make sure it isnt Stolen.....Then Take it to DMV and File the proper paperwork......

I shouldn't try to get a new title for it untill I am 16 because I am illeigl to ride it at age 14? But when I turn sixteen try to get the new title?

Is that what you were saying? Just making sure.

No,,,,go ahead and Try to Re Title it.....Its not Illegal to do that.......What sucks is you cant legally ride it.......:no:

Well,,,,,,,I cant see a 6 yr old getting a Title,,,But I dont know the law...Maybe your 6yr old can own a Machine...LOL!!!

Love the little 70's ,,,, Ive had Several over the yrs.....what yr is it.....?????? 3sp or 4sp...Up Shift or Down Shift????

Im in Marysville CA,,,But we ride the Oregon Dunes every chance we get....We also put on the Winchester Bay Dune clean up every yr....Maybe we could meet, Ride and clean up the Beach all in one shot:yes:

guy must not like to see kids having fun just keep riding it as is and tell your pop's the dude next door is giving u a hard time let him deal with it!

I would love to give him that advice.....But,,,,I would hate it if in fact he took it....Took off on a Ride....His neighbor Called the Cops....They came out....Gave him a Ticket for Illegal Driving of a Vehicle and No REG....They might impound the Trike as well...I dont want that over my head....

My Youngest is 7 now....He has been riding since I started him on a 50cc when he was three...At 5 we put him on a 90cc....CA law says that he cant operate that 90cc until he is 12....Nothing over 90cc until he is 16....The way he is going now he will be in the 250cc in a few yrs....

but here is the key.....Im his father....If he leaves camp....I go with him or someone I trust takes him out...If we get pulled over....Im willing to take the hit...Chances of getting pulled over are slim anyway....I know his ability and I will never let him ride beyond what I think he can do..

Some facts about bumpercarkid

We know he is 14 yrs old and has a Trike.....We know his laws in a nutshell...We have no Idea how he rides, we have no idea what his neighbor sees..We really dont have any idea at all about what is going on.

He has a 4sp and its a down shift. I think I have pictures of him riding it in my garage. Thats sounds like fun. We are always trying to find some one to go ride with. We used to get asked to go but the when it got closer to the day they would back out . So its just me and my husband. And usually we take our two boys.:wink::cute:

      This thing came with a cheap aftermarket carb on it the problem I'm having is it won't start with choke installed into carburetor it will start and get run without it installed then bogs out after about 2 min run time I've checked timing , compression, checked valves for proper clearance , also did a smoke test for air leaks found none.

      Bought the project a few weeks ago with weak and intermittent spark. I could smack the CDI box with a screwdriver and it would work fine for a few days. Now, the smack trick is not working and machine is running awful with the weak spark and will most often not fire enough to turn the engine over through combustion (cranks very good). I ordered the GY6 CDI to see if I can get it going again as these CDI boxes are way too expensive even used. battery is fully charged and charging very good.
       
      Wondering if anyone knows how the GY6 (6-pin AC) CDI would wire to this machine. Attached is the electrical diagram. My confusion is with the green and orange wires sharing the 2-pin connector and the Blk/Red wire that runs to the magneto solo. How would I get AC power to the CDI through pin 1 on the GY6 when the CDI has two wires to the pickup-myabe just try one (orange then green) at a time?
