I believe that My 07 YFZ is has a throttle that is sticking open. The only problem that i have with it is that it holds a high idle right after you hit the throttle. I looked the cable over and took off the cover on the carb to see and ensure that it is not the cable. With it running i used my finger to move the throttle. it idled high. i tried pushing the throttle closed didnt do anything.

Is there an adjustment that is off.

The shop Replaced the orignal carb with a new due to a problem. i don't know what that problem was. Yes they should fix this. but it was like 2 years ago and i dont think they will do it for free

Anyone have any ideas?

Check the travel of the throttle cable cam on your carb. Maybe something is holding it. Was that cable ever replaced?

Is there a thumb screw adjstment on the carb? If so, try messing with that about 2 turns. Also try the air fuel mixture screw.

where is the Fuel/air mixture screw? what is the approx. setting? with stock jet?

I dont know about the cable being replaced but it seems good. but i did order a new one. regardless

I removed the air box and noticed that there was oil from the filter in the tube to the carb so maybe there is that. sticking the carb up. so Im going to run cleaner through it tomorrow.

First check the idle screw and make sure the cable adjustments(top of the carb and at the other end of the cable) are not holding the throttle open. If that doesn't work, take the carb off, leave the cable connected and look inside while you work the throttle in and out. Make sure that the slide closes all the way. If it has sat for a long while, then I would suggest cleaning the carb, some of the fuel could have gummed up partially blocking the jets, this would cause a lean condition and cause the machine to idle high. If that is the case, you need to fix it, lean is very bad.

Has it done this since they put the new carb on? If none of the other ideas work for you get your service manual out and check to make sure the slide is in right (the slide is what is normally referred to as a butterfly on a older auto carb). I put mine together in a hurry after re-jetting once and I had one of the plates on my slide facing the wrong direction and it had the same symptoms

This 2006 ArticCat dvx400 didn't have a reverse cable. I got one and am wondering how it routes? If someone has a dvx400, could post a pic of there reverse cable routing, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hisun 700 EFI. Replaced TMAP sensor had broken off . Fuel pump pressure 41psi. The only way I can keep it running (and runs fine) is to close off fuel return line.

This thing came with a cheap aftermarket carb on it the problem I'm having is it won't start with choke installed into carburetor it will start and get run without it installed then bogs out after about 2 min run time I've checked timing , compression, checked valves for proper clearance , also did a smoke test for air leaks found none.

I picked up this ATV that had no spark. The previous owner said he was driving it and it died and would not start. He discovered it had no spark. He replaced the CDI and the coil with no luck. He got tired of it and I bought it. I replaced the stater and now it has strong spark. Now, it starts for a second or two then dies. It will not stay running. I have checked the timing and it is spot on. The valves are adjusted correctly. I see no warn issues with the cam. I put the original CDI and coil back on it. Same problem exists. Compression is at 65 psi (has decompression mechanism),
I took off the muffler in case the issue was clogged pipes. No change. I replaced the spark plug. No change. The carb was an aftermarket so I put a Niche carb on with no change. I bypassed the fuel pump and that did nothing to solve the problem.
I don't know if this is a carb issue or an ignition issue. I am looking around locally for an OEM carb to try out but not sure that will fix the problem.
Can anyone help me solve this problem. I am running out of ideas.
      Thank you for your time

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?
