I'm looking for some new wheels and tires for my 300ex. What size should I get. I do not want to loose too much speed and I am thinking of going up a tooth on the front sprocket. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

what kind of riding do you do? if they are for woods/trail riding you could go with the razr 2's or ITP GNCCs....we run both of those, depending on the conditions...

if you do primarily MX tracks, stick with the razrmx.

Wheels, you can prob. get away with regular steel rims...if you compete, go for a more expensive that will help seal the beads, like Hipers or Beadlocks....

Just a thought.

If you go up a tooth on the front sprocket, I would go down 2" on the rear tire size or you will notice a significant drop in acceleration and you will need to work the clutch alot more at low speeds.

yes, I didn't go down on tire size and ended up burning the clutch.

Hi all, new to here, looks like a great site. Own two atvs, an at the moment not working honda fourtrax and a yamaha moto4 of some description, trying to work out what model yammy it is.

Pulled my '86 Moto4 out of shed where it sat for 20 years. I knew it smoked. checked it over a little put in gas and it fired right up!!
Drove about 100 yards, ran about half throttle wouldn't idle.  Put on somenew parts, jug/piston and rings, carb and valve seals.
'went together ok, tuned it over by hand about 6 revs whick went well. Hit the starter it fired for about 6 revs and quit. tried it again fired once and then th sound of something slipping like maybe chain slipping over spoket.
Took cover off to watch cam sproket, hit starter again, heard same noise and the cam sproket was not turning but jumping a bit. Chain was still tight. You will probably tell me I need to split the lower case but hoping there mightbe something else.
I don't fully understand the chain tightener, the plunger only moves about 1/4 inch, should it move much more than that when off the motor and compressing it by hand?
      Thanks for any thoughts.

      Hello all!
I was given a 2000 Suzuki Quadrunner 500 (Quad 500 Runner?) and its current state is a bit of a mystery!
Kept indoors but hasn't been run in 5 years.  We're not trying the engine until the gas is replaced, and the tires are reinflated. But the previous owner said their only issue was stalling when shifting to reverse without giving some throttle.
      I'm optimistic!  See y'all around!
