Polaris Xplorer 4x4 cdi problem

Hey guys i have found a 1997 polaris xplorer for $450..it needs a few things...one of which i do not know anything about it is a cdi box, it need a new one... does anyone recommend a certain brand? or were i can find a stock one.. i have been searching on google for sometime now and no luck... i need your help

If you want to go with an aftermarket unit, I would recommend MSD if they have on for that quad. Otherwise I would go with the OEM unit, Service motorsports has excellent prices on OEM parts.

Either get MSD or OEM like the man said. The only other kind is the Dyantech, most aftermarket companies use this one with there sticker on it. The Big Gun Rev Box is a Dynatech CDI, just telling you that so you know what the dynatechs look like. They have about a 25% fail rate.(at least in the UTV world)

MSD is the best, if you look at almost any race car you see, it will most likely have an MSD ignition system. They make systems for some atv's but it is likely that your Polaris is not one of them. It is worth finding out though. Either way the CDI should be pretty easy to install. Sorry, actually it is servicehonda.com, they sell parts for all types of machines though not just honda.

Yeah, the CDI is nothing more than a few wires/plugs. I installed the one on our Rhino in about 5 minutes.
