What does everyone think of the bombardier quest 650? Ive found one on craigslist for $2000, with 4100miles but it doesnt say what yr it is. I know nothing about the model and would like to know how it would compare to the 05 brute force 750 that im also looking at. Are there any major pros or cons for either

2002 Can-Am Quest 650 ATVs here is a link comparing the two..the most noticeable differences are:

-Brutes independent suspension over the bombardier solid rear axle.

-brute has more power with a v-twin engine compared to quest single cylinder the brute is also bigger in both length wise and height wise

-the brute is 150 pounds lighter then the quest

-the brute had a locking front differential compared to the quests shaft driven front diff which means wen the quest gets stock only three wheels really spin when the brute gets stuck u have the option of locking the front diff so all 4 tires move simultaneously.

-the only thing the quest had over the brute is an inch wider stance and the transmission comes with a "park" thats about it

*even though the date might not be right to the atv ur looking at the model quest 650 has stayed the same throughout its life time as a bombardier vehicle all that changed over the years was the color

I am trying to diagnose a no spark issue with my 02 Big Bear 400 and I am really hoping it is not a CDI.  I have done the test on the stator and I believe that is faulty.  I ordered a new aftermarket one from a the jungle website and it tested bad right out of the box so I am waiting for a different one to arrive from an ATV parts supplier.  I started looking out of curiosity at CDI units and it seems if it is for a big bear you are SOL.  Kodiaks, no problem.  Big Bear. No such luck.

      Hi to all
Newbie here. Not new to ATVs. Look forward to learning a few new things and hope to maybe help some too.

I'm trying to help a buddy out with his bike (he's not really on the internet or familiar with these forums) and I'll admit that I am not super familiar with the transmission and clutches in these bikes. I owned a Brute a few years ago, but never had an issue like this that I had to troubleshoot.
So basically my buddy bought a group lot of 650's to build one good bike out of. He got it all put together and has it running but when he pushes on the throttle the clutch doesn't engage till the RPM's are quite high and even when its moving it doesn't really speed up, almost seems like its in "limp mode". He's tried 2 different transmissions so I don't think that's the problem.
Is there any adjustment on the clutch engagement? Anything else I can tell him to look at? Let me know if you need anymore information if you think you can help.

Working on a 2002 Quest 500 and the grommets in the tank are rock hard and leak.  Any tips on replacing without having to pull the tank, hands are too big to get to the bottom gromment which is the worst one.

Can’t for the life of me find replacement shocks for this thing!
One of my front shocks went out and I’m running around in circles trying to come up with a replacement after my JB weld fix broke for good.
I’ve seen other forums talk about jerryrigging snowmobile shocks to fit, and I myself just purchased 70$ shocks off Amazon from China that seem to fit the measurements, but is there really no other option?
