Well the 2010 XP's have a modified rear end setup. I don't know what the driving force was for the change but its obvious that , the sway bar is now is flipped to the rear of the quad and its about 3 inches longer and provides about 1 more inch of wheel clearance for the tires.

One thing it didn't like is now instead of 2 upper control arms for the rear wheels there only one now. They took the tubular steel and made it a huge square block that travels on the front side of the quad and links into both the front and rear bolt holes where the old rear link used to be.

I know tubular steel is stronger than box steel and this seems like a quick hacked together part that might be weaker than the original setup.

I don't know if this improves handling, but one positive of the whole thing is some guys are happy about the change since now they don't have to run offsets to get the tire clearance needed for those big tires.

I have replaced the cracked stator cover on my non-running 2006 LT-F400F that I purchased recently, checked all the shafts vs the service manual and pics and advice here.  I replaced missing gears, bushings and washers, made sure that truth marks were all aligned properly, that the shift cam springs felt like they returned properly, etc.  IAfter installing the new stator cover I checked the transfer lever for proper movement from L-H-R and then cranked it up.  Happily, it runs and changes gears well in L,  but it will not shift into H or R for anything.  I have opened it back up and am going back through it looking for the missing puzzle piece(s) but how can I best check that I have everything right this time before buttoning it back up?

Does anyone know if they're interchangeable?  I have a 2002 TRX20TE and 2007 TRX250TE, so getting to a set of common engine parts would be ideal.

I'm trying to help a buddy out with his bike (he's not really on the internet or familiar with these forums) and I'll admit that I am not super familiar with the transmission and clutches in these bikes. I owned a Brute a few years ago, but never had an issue like this that I had to troubleshoot.
So basically my buddy bought a group lot of 650's to build one good bike out of. He got it all put together and has it running but when he pushes on the throttle the clutch doesn't engage till the RPM's are quite high and even when its moving it doesn't really speed up, almost seems like its in "limp mode". He's tried 2 different transmissions so I don't think that's the problem.
Is there any adjustment on the clutch engagement? Anything else I can tell him to look at? Let me know if you need anymore information if you think you can help.
