just wondering since Kawasaki and Suzuki use to make the z400 and kfx400 as one,(they seemed to be the same quad). was the transmission gearing any different in the 2 quads? it seams like the Z400 was faster and pulled harder then the KFX400 or did it!?!?!?!?

I have never seen the KXF400

But I know that "officialy" suzuki gives the same motors to arctic cat, kawasaki, dezus, etc... as what goes in to every other suzuki...

But there always seems to be less power with the motors that go in to the other brands!

I guess that suzuki is only backing off the size of the cam lobes / timming or maybe just making thicker base gaskets that reduce the compression (without telling anyone)

then there is the issue of the other brands chosing diffrent gearing with the sprockets or making a different air box shape (I think when arcitcat used the LTA500 motor in there atv they make a big stuff up with the airbox and lost heaps of power too)

either way the bike is still going to be a good bike and can always be made to go faster!

I have no doubt that it is slower. just because I have seen this before in the LTA500 motor that went in to the arcticat atv and DRZ400 motor in the KLX400R and TL1000R motor in Aprilia road bike, were all a bit slower and less power.

i totaly agree.

But kawasaki and suzuki were only "sharing" some models of each others bikes.

Kawasaki made the new KXF250 2003-2006 (RMZ250 2003-2006)

Suzki inheareted the

KX60

KX110

kawasaki inhearited the

drz125

drz400E

ltz400

There could be more but I cant think off the top of my head.

the only motove suzuki could have is to make their bikes with the same motor "be the best" so that people are more inclined to buy the suzuki bike. and thus make more money?

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

As the title says, I've got a crankcase full of fuel / oil to deal with and figure I'll just start from the top and move through the system.  Going to start with a rebuild of the petcock and then the carb if the problem isn't fixed with the petcock rebuild.  I figure I'll go with a Moose kit unless others with experience recommend another brand (All Balls, etc.)
      Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Just picked up an 84 LT185 ATV, I understand there was an accessory add  on that gave it electric start, anyone have any info about that kit?

I just bought a 1984 Suzuki LT185 ATV and am looking for the OWNER’S manual. ( not a service manual)
I contacted Suzuki Canada but they have no paper or digital copies in their archives.
Does anyone possibly have a digital copy they’d be willing to share?
