Uh-Oh Oil Under Bike Is Never A Good Sign!

So today I went out to the garage and I noticed a puddle of oil under the bike. What I found was a leak in the Rear Gearbox Input Shaft or (Snorkel Shaft).

I know I have to pull the drive shaft out but after that i'm at a loss.

If anyone has changed one of these seals before I would appreciate a little help.

I have the seal changed now but it still leaks a little. I wonder if the seal needs a break in period to conform to the shaft better.

If the bearing that sits behind the seal is worn, the shaft could be wobbling around causing the seal to leak.

I thought that too! I checked for play in the shaft and there was none to be had.

Yep still leaking but thats due to my oun fault. I haven't taking the bike out for a long ride yet because the fields are too wet and the farmers would shoot ya if they caught me out there. I'll check it out when i get back after my ATV trip at the end of the month.

if it is still leaking then i would pull the input shaft again and check the seal surface closely. a slight groove or a scratch or a ding will cause a leak as well.

She's all good now boys, all it needed was a few hours of riding to seal the leak. So all is good but now I have another problem with the front diff. I plan on making another thread about this new problem.
