So I took my 92 honda 300 2x4 to my local dealer to have the front brakes repairs because they didnt work at all. They told they cant fix it because they cant order the part they need which is apparently a front wheel cylinder and its discontinued by honda. Does anyone know where I can get one that will fit my year of honda or if theres anything else I can do as far as replacing the brakes or getting some sort of front brakes on my atv. Thanks in advance for any help

Yeah thats what I thought but apparently they can only order from honda and honda dicontinued the front wheel cylinder for that model. It needs a few other parts as well to get the brakes working but they said without being able to order that wheel cylinder theres no way the brakes will work, so its kinda got me in a spot because I really would like to have working front brakes even at any amount of braking capacity.

Yeah possibly I need to find out though if those rebuild/ repair kits have all the parts because I believe there were actually some missing from in my wheel cylinders but i wont know what pieces were missing until I talk to the dealer again tomorrow. Thanks for the help, also does anyone know if there is any way to convert the front to disk brakes? Thanks again

Parts Unlimited sales a rebuild kit for the 300 the part# is 1702-0002 you will need one for each side. You need to take it apart and look at the wheel cylinder but most of the time they can be rebuilt. We orderd some of those last summer and they were available you might want to check with another dealer to make sure just in case someone looked at the wrong number its worth a shot. They sold Thousands of those models,I can't beleive that they discontinued that part already. If you would like call this number 1-800-356-1354 and tell them colescycle told you to check with mike he knows everything Honda and what fits what.Good Day

Thanks for the info, I talked to the dealer and they got my rear brakes fixed and i was able to talk to them a little more about the wheel cylinder. He said usually they would just be able to use one of those rebuild/repair kits but that in this case one of the wheel cylinders was actually so worn it had a hole through it which made it unrepairable at least to them. Im wondering if I might could have someone weld the hold in to make it at least useable. Anyone have thoughts on that or another solution? Thanks again for all the help!

Just some friendly advice on new tires. Check with your ATV dealer.
There are so many aftermarket sites, Revco, Royal Distributing, Partzilla, and on and on. Even with their “ big sales”, my local Canam dealer’s REGULAR price beat the tire prices of the 3rd party sellers! People often assume the Dealership will cost them more, but I found this not to be true!

      Good day everyone!
I am pretty new to ATV/UTV/Small engine repairs and would like input on your absolute must-have specialty tools for maintenance and repairs. Aside from the obvious wrenches and sockets, what are some more specialty type tools you use for troubleshooting? I don't plan to open a repair shop or anything, I just do this as a hobby. Looking forward to your responses!

I was looking to buy a new ATV.
I was debating between Polaris sportsman 450 and Honda rancher.
      Polaris it a bit cheaper.
But can you tell me which one will have more demand on the used market? Which one will keep it's value better?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?
