ok how about honda rancher? foreman? My uncle has a rancher and I rode on it, I like the way it ride smooth on rough ground than my old honda 300

Those might have the belt tranny not sure though. Why are you steering away from the cvts?

ok its 660, 830 hours roughly, 5000 miles.

Im not sure if its a good motor with 5000 miles in it. I guess I have to do some reseach for the motor that broke down at what miles.

it's alot of miles but not alot of hours. whoever had it got on it and drove it, didn't let it idle all day. just over 6 miles an hour. that's a good machine, lots of parts available and getting inexpensive ...

if it runs good, the only thing i can think of down the road is rings and valves for fixing ....

I have a 1993 honda fourtrax 300, it has 1,225 roughly hours in it with ZERO rebuilt. two years ago, put a new brake shoes and clean the carb, thats it. been using diesel engine oil for the 4 wheeler.

Yet you didn't explain what it is.

nope sur didnt...... but i would think tht it would slip alot and ur transmission wouldnt be tht good.... i dont realy know wat the purpose of its is though honestly:skeptic:

Don't say it's a stupid concept if you don't know what it is. If it is what I'm thinking (CVT) then it's a fantastic design.

haha i didnt say anything about CVT just about the belt transsmision.....read my reply and u would see tht

You said the belt tranny is a stupid idea, yet you don't know what it is, neither do I. I'm assuming Mario was talking about a CVT when he said belt transmission. A CVT has a primary and secondary clutch. The primary spins all the time, and with greater force (higher RPMs) it squeezes together and catches on the clutch belt and spins the secondary.

Thats what I was thinking he was talking about when he refered to a belt tranny = CVT.

Honda has a torque converter type tranny

Most 4x4s have a CVT

Most 4x2s have a clutch

Thats the only transmissions I know of

LOL if you knew so much about it then why did you ask what it was ?

Hello all, I have a 2006 Polaris Sawtooth with no spark. It has a dead battery but with a jump pack on it, it will still not Spark. Plug is good, Throttle ETC is not closed, Stator pick up coil seems to Ohm out in the correct range, Unsure how to properly check the CDI. And when ignition is on the Neutral and reverse light come on but after cranking just the neutral stays on.

      Any help would be great,

      Thanks!

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.
My husband and me are getting ready to host the 2nd Quad Runners event at our nudist campground. The first one (last year) went pretty well with about 20 quads attending and have to say, it was a smaller group, but they made up for their size with the large interest in partying and there was plenty of nudity as the Saturday night went on.
We have decided to host another one this summer, but we are looking for some fun (but safe) riding events. Our grounds are almost all flat and remember we are a nudist campground so many of us are bare as* naked so "slow ride" events would be the best.
Give us your thoughts and ideas and feel free to ask us anything you would like, and we will answer right here in the thread.
Thanks for your help and ride safe.
BTW, let us know what "anything goes" means for this thread section.

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

was thinking most of us on this forum would have another ride, so to get the ball rolling...........
MY MAX 4 6X6 2009, now this will actually go anywhere including across the water. In the 3rd photo I had gone up the river about 30 meters then climbed up the bank, 6X6 owners call it "swimming"
