2004 Suzuki Eiger 400 - Battery/Electrical Problems

Fourwhels

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 eigar 400 4x4. I am having trouble finding out why the battery will not stay charged. I have tried two new battery's. I can charge the battery and the quad will start but after it has ran for a while the battery goes dead. hit the starter and all it will do is cleck. while it is running with low battery you turn on the lights and it kill's the motor.

any ideas, I would love to get it running.

I'd say a bad stator or bad connection coming from the stator. Fire it up & see what the voltage reading is @ the battery, should be around 14.4 volts. Next check voltage output @ the stator connector with the engine running. Doing a continuity test on the stator wold be a good idea as well, with the engine off.

Checking all the connections would be a good idea, BUT....if you've boiled out a few batteries I'd definately be looking @ the regulator. It sounds like it's overcharging. Checking the out-put voltage @ the stator and @ the battery would help to figure it out. Looking past what you where "told", without checking it you are just taking stabs into the dark. Boiling out batteries tells me it is ovvercharging by quite a bit!! ( some stators output as much as 36v, that's WAY too much for a 12v system!)

Hello I’m new here and was wondering is anyone knew of good replacement part numbers for front struts and rear shocks for this atv? I think I’ve found a new rear shock, that looks like the original but there is no dimensions or anything and was wondering if there are any afterMarket new front struts available. I know it’s a long shot but any help would be appreciated.

1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.

I have been exploring all the options available, so many, its hard to choose. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot, Subaru Outback, and Kind of looking at the Outlander, although its a little small,  the new one is nice looking. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or gripes with any of these rides. I have driven Jeeps for the past 25  years and they have been great, but their price point has gotten to high. Expieriences good or bad would be helpful. Thanks!
