I had a similar issue on our 00 400EX...It was running fine then while I was climbing a hill it began to seem to bog down/loose compression. Next thing it stopped running. Never could get it to start but it would turn over. The culprit.... the decompression plunger. It is located on the top where the cam is (the cylinder head). There is a little spring under the plunger. I removed the plunger & spring. Clean it with carb cleaner then put back in or I completely took out the plunger & spring put the cylinder head back on. If you have a CLYMER Manual it’s on page 81. I can’t say for sure this is the problem with yours but it’s not hard to access it & it doesn't take long to rule it out. Hope this helps.

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage
