Hello, I have a 2001 Warrior 350 that has had its fair share of ignition problems. The last time it was riden was September 2012 and it did not start easily, but did after about 3 minutes of cranking. Fired up fine the rest of the day. Got home, cleaned it off, wouldn't start. Currently, we figired out that the problem I am having is I only get one spark each time the key is turned on, then nothing. Turn the key off and on again and you get one more spark.

I have replaced the stator pick-up coil combo, both test where they should in their ohms, but did come from e-bay and not a reputable company. I have tried the CDI, rectifier, and ignition coil off of my brothers 99 Warrior which starts on the first tap of the start button without fail every time, and same thing on my quad. I then put my CDI rectifier, and ignition coil on his quad and it fired right up, so I knew it wasn't them. I even tried swapping the entire wire harness. I pulled the flywheel, looked at the little half circle metal piece, it is ok. My flywheel is good. I tried the parking break disconnect, but am not 100% sure that I did this correct. Need someone to explain this better.

Still having the same symptom after all of these changes. I am starting to go nuts, :aargh::aargh::aargh:, so I was hoping maybe someone could offer a little help. I am starting to wonder if something is wrong with the stator and it is somehow affecting the spark, like maybe I got a defective part. Only other thing I could think to do is swap my brothers side cover and stator to see if it is that my stator is bad. If it were bad though, why would the ohms test well?

If you have any ideas that I haven't already tried, please let me know. Thanks!!!

I got the quad started this weekend. The problem was that I bought a cheap stator, and it wasn't until I read that they can come bad if purchased cheap, I went with the one from Rmstator.com. Reliable and has a 1 year warrenty. Sparked like crazy and fires right away now. Thanks for your help.

so i cant read the vin clearly but i have added some pictures, hopefully someone sees it correctly. took a picture of what it looks like, they painted it Green It is underside a SKY BLUE original. has one spark plug . 3 relays in the back + rectifier. has one relay in the front. has cdi in the front three plugs off it.
If you need more info or pictures please ask.
the wire harness is trashed i want to rewire it but correctly.

Troubleshooting a no spark issue, was running OK, maybe a little rich, turned it off, now no spark. I've checked/ohmed out the main key switch, the start/stop switch, neutral switch, brake switch - all good. It will crank the starter, but no spark with the starter or when I try the pull start. I've checked all fuses and diodes. Swapped battery. New plug. New coil. Swapped in a used CDI - no help. Traced, removed, cleaned, reattached all grounds. Removed things like my winch from the circuits to be sure a bad relay or something was dragging it down. When testing voltages, the orange wire going from the CDI to the ignition coil shows no/very low voltage-shouldn't it have 12V on it? Sometimes I get a very weak, intermittent glow on my spark tester, but not enough to fire the plug. I've checked continuity on just about all wires in the harness. Checked/cleaned/lubed w dielectric grease- all connections, redid a few that looked old/dirty. I've checked the stator resistances, all good, but have a stator and rectifier ordered anyway, will arrive Sunday. I verified that the rectifier has a voltage output back to charge the battery while cranking - 10.5-11V, low, but expected while starter is engaged. What else can I check as part of troubleshooting? I have a Haines service manual, but the 1999 350 4x4 seems to be an odd model, there isn't an exact electrical diagram for it, but found one for another year that has all the same number of wires and same color wires, so I've referenced that. Any hints, tips or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hopefully someone can help me out, I purchased a 350 moto4 2wd while I'm trying to fix a dying honda. I can't see the vin number as there was damage and a bar has been welded where I think the vin should be, The decals say 350 moto4 Huntaway, it has the square gear change low, high, reverse up on the left of the handlebars and it has three rectangle lights up on the dash. after googling I'm struggling to find anything called huntaway, Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey everyone looking for a suggestion of where i can start looking. But first I'd like to explain what happened. Took the bike this morning got it started in 6 degrees celsius in 6-7 kicks? No choke. Drove 6km and when shifted to next gear bike decided to just shut off, stopped checked everything out seemed good, started first kick and on i went, drove maybe another 2km bike did same thing but this time it took me 10-15 kicks to get it started, on the third time after a kilometer decided not to start at all. Kicked it like a 450 a couple hundred times, nothing. So far checked gas is good, bypassed fuel filter and on/off valve to eliminate that problem, hot wired the kill switch in case something got corroded there. Nothing. Any suggestions would be welcomed. (Heard valve adjustment are a must do?)
