1999 Honda 300TRX - No Spark/No Start

I have a 1999 Honda 300 TRX, just replaced spark plug and still no start/no spark - someone mentioned to replace the coil and/or cdi? is that corrrect? if so do i need to remove front fender & front bracket to do this? Thanks!

there is a pick up coil where the stator is, i would try to replace that andéor the stator first as the cdi are expensive. you can always use a volt meter to see where the current is or not going ...
