I recently acquired this quad . Runs great but it will not shift into park. Don't want to tear into the rear differential without a general idea of what to look for. Are there any suggestions?

i believe the vinsons had transmission problems from the start. someone correct me if i'm wrong, but, from what i have been reading, suzuki offered a shift kit for troubled machines. some machines were hard to shift (non-automatics) and other problems included being stuck in a gear. it was an expensive job to do, so i think if it was me, i would be somewhat ok without it going into park and count my blessings that every other gear is working fine. i know it's best if the bike works properly, but the fix was about 1500 - 2000 bucks. is yours an automatic or toe shift ?

ck1999_400ex might be a good guy to get ahold of here if no one else jumps in and gives a heads up.

Thanks riders. The rod seems to be fine. Theres a plug on the top of the differential at the shifter and if I loosrn the plug or even remove it it will move or even shift into park. Thats ss far ad I have gone with it. Its got the foot shift. At that cost I can live with it. The quad was given to me by a real close friend who new someone who stopped riding a few years ago. The quade sat for three years.

I'm working on a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 with shift indicator problems. The indicator panel only will show Neutral and Reverse. If it's in High or Low, the indicator will show "R".
I have replaced the three position indicator switch on the transmission. There is also a two position switch on the tranny that I didn't replace. If anyone is familiar with this problem, please let me know what I need to do. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Okay so I bought this 1997 sazuki king quad from a guy and he had it for a few years.
He had it registered and on the trails last year but he said it bogged and backfired when he would try to drive it. so it sat for a year.
I bought it for 800 bucks and got it running that night and it ran great for a few days
But I parked it the other night and went to start it again and it was really hard to fire up and when I did it was bogging and idling high then low again.
So I took the carb out and cleaned it (ended up doing it twice because it was still doing the same thing)
Now today I have it running slightly better, but it is still like 20%
I have been looking it up and trying to figure it out but I can't find the issue, has anyone else had this problem? I'll attach a video of it running and giving some throttle
