Im working on a old 1987 honda 125 4 wheeler in the school shop. It will start by getting pulled by another 4 wheeler but wont start with the pull start or Electric Start. When you pull start it it tries to start but when you try the electric start it just turns over but doesnt even act like it wants to start. The spark plug is dry and it shoots fuel out of the back(air filter side) of the carb. Weve had the carb off twice and it is complety clean. What are some things we can try?

I bought a Honda 250sx 1986 but the exhaust is broken. Apparently it's not possible to order a new one. I checked to order one on others compagny but there's noting.
Do you know which exhaust it's possible to install. Is there a company who sold an exaust to fit on my 250sx.
Sorry for my english
Thank you

Hope someone can help with this one.
We took our 1984 Honda TRX 200 to the shop and they had it for about 2 weeks before they finally called and said that they had cleaned the carb and changed the battery and that it had started up.
We went and got it and when we got home it would not start so we called them, they said bring it back in, so we did. They called us the next day and said they changed the spark plug, and that it was running. We went and got it again and it ran when we drove it off the truck.
We parked it for about an hour because we were going to get ready to go on a ride. Well, it wouldnt start again.
So we called them and they said the last thing they could do was order a new CDI box and put that on. I decided to just buy it myself, so I didnt have to pay them labor again. We put the new one on today and its still not starting.
Does anyone have any ideas on what we could check to see what in the world is going on with this thing?
Please and Thank you

ok it will start up an run but quits a lot till it gets warm, but has a bad miss an wont idle, I have a brand new Honda carb on it, good gas flow, new plug, but when I let the throttle go below a quarter, it backfires through carb an tail pipe:confused: so it has never had any electrical work or mechanical work done...it just started all the sudden, I'm think it may have ignition coil breaking down, or cdi box going bad...anyone had this trouble before? let me know what you did to fix it. thanks:skeptic:

I need a carb for my 1986 LT230S. Can't find reasonably priced OEM anywhere. Does anyone know of an aftermarket carb that will work?
Manual says OEM is Mikuni VM26SS
Thanks!

There's an electrical cable connected to the front brake lever. The parts list calls it the front stop switch assembly. There is no stop switch on this side of the handle bars. Seems to be activated by the brake lever. Anybody know what it does?

So I have a 2001 Kawasaki prairie 300 I could not find tough country snow plow... it's a older plow too boot... so I made the plow mount and updated the plow with some skids.
Mount plate is 1/4 steel plate and so are the pin points
The skids are off a moose plow. I got some plumbing black pipe for holders to weld to the blade and braced it with pieces left over from the plow mount 1/4 steel...
1/4 plate cost $45
Skids cost $24
U bolts and other hardware where $20
I got the blade free

Hello guys! New to the forum, and fairly new to ATVs. I've driven them, but never owned one. Now I do own one. Just picked it up today. It's a 1999 Yamaha Big Bear 350. It's been through some stuff. The guy I got it from told me the previous owner removed the front diff because he didn't want to replace the half shaft. So it's 2wd, even though it's supposed to be 4x4. Lovely. I can deal with that for now.
More importantly, I need to get it running. The carb needs to be rebuilt. The guy I got it from said he sprayed it all out and it still didn't work. I'm concerned he might have damaged it or not put all the parts back. I was looking at a replacement carb, and the OEM parts is $600. I'd rather not spend $600 if there are any other options. I have seen carbs on Amazon and eBay that are in the $40 - $100 range that say they fit. Anyone have experience with these? I'm going to get a rebuild kit for the current carb just to make sure that won't fix it.
Thats the first thing with it. Secondly, it was completely rewired. I need to find a original wiring diagram so I can put it back how it was, with a key and all. Currently it's wired with just a rocker switch. Any sources for a service manual that would include wiring diagrams?
Thirdly, is the Big Bear 350 a good atv? I picked it up for $700. It does start and run when you spray starting fluid into the air intake, so I am not concerned about the engine being bad. I plan to use it for the farm, running around and carrying things with it like minerals and feed and such. Not really for mudding and things like that. How good is the 99 350?
I am certain I will have more questions as I examine it more, but that's all for now. Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Just a couple of things since i get various atvs.
They always need seat cover and always need oil and other minor items.
My question is Do you buy any specific motor oil for them, i heard you must get atv oil or will mess up the clutch.
Not sure if correct but didnt want to find out hard way. Is there a cheaper oil or can you use regular motor oil?
Next they always need a new seat cover, any good places to buy bulk or cheap vinyl to re do the seats with out spending
30-50 dollars on a specific cover?
whats you go to places for parts, i use amazon, ebay any others that offer a good deal?
that goes for hard parts or just cables and or clips, wiring, bolts etc no wrong answer here.
always looking for new ways to find parts for the older atvs. TIA Az
