1994 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4x4 - Brake Issues

Ok so recently I purchased this four wheeler (my first atv) fairly cheap. There are almost no brakes on the rear (barely enough to stop, loading it was a sight!) and the front brake lever has no pressure at all. I'm guessing the front brakes just might need to be bled but i can't find the bleeder screw.

The person I bought the atv off of says it is a 1997 model but after inspecting the VIN I have found that it is actually a 1994 model. After knowing this and also knowing that yamaha changed the brakes from discs to drums after 1996 could he have installed the wrong parts? He says he put new pads on the front and back and also a new rear brake cable. Could this be why the brakes are not working?

What should I do?

yep, start by bleeding them, bring your patience and a friend with you. Changing pads is often done wrong the first time. Buy some brake fluid before you star and always use new, clean fluid OK? The repair manual should help you. Remember brake fluid is hygroscopic [it attracts moisture] so keep a lid on it OK? Discs a reall simple and hard to screw up so Ill bet youll have brakes after bleeding it some. Dont try to adjust the parking brake until you have rear brakes working properly...thats the cable

Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.

1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.

      Hi everyone.
Let me explain the thread title.
My husband and I are very active in the nudist community, and we have stayed at many and most of the mainstream nudist and clothing optional campgrounds in the USA. We are now approaching our retirement and would like to start a podcast to share those off the road / backwoods / little known camping areas where nudity is allowed. We have purchased a 5th wheel camping trailer with a rear garage for the ATV and now need some good reports on the one to buy.
We are most interested in a side by side unit but would love to get your thoughts.
Feel free to stop by and say Hi and ask anything you would like to better understand what we are looking for in an offroad unit.
Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.

If you had to choose one mod that you couldn't live without, or had to recommend one what would it be?
