I am not sure if there is a part number or a name for the end covers to make it easier to look for replacements on these.
Missing both so would be nice to see if there is actually a replacement part for just the covers.

My 2018 Polaris Sportsman engine operation feels jumpy when I ride. It happens when I am trying to keep constant speed and throttle is fixed position. ATV will misfire and feel jumpy. Not smooth..
Idle is good more or less. Will always crank up on first attempt.

I am thinking to start using carbon cleaner.

Any different between the Polaris carbon clean and Seafoam?

My brother in law’s artic cat 500 is in my garage…. In boxes.  He said it just quit running so, he took it apart. Now he wants me to fix it.   I’ll be looking through posts to learn what I can as I put it back together.   I don’t have any specific questions yet.  But, I am sure I will as I start turning wrenches.   I don’t know what year model it is.  That might be on a label on a piece somewhere here.

So I have a 2003 Polaris Predator 500 completely built and running.  And then I have a 2004 Polaris Predator 500 completely disassembled.  I've got the suspension, handle bars, steering and bottom of the motor on the brand new frame (previous frame was totaled, that's why it's disassembled).  Everything else is in boxes.

I've done all sorts of repairs on quads, ATVs, dirtbikes, snowmobiles, boats, cars...was a mechanic by profession in the 80's and wrenching my entire life.  Done top end rebuilds on multiple bikes over the years.  But I've never put a box of parts together like this.

It shouldn't be hard as I have a running bike to look at and I have the factory service manual as well as a print of the polaris parts manuals.  My question is in the best order to put this thing together.  I can't locate a set of instructions to follow.  I can figure it out without instructions but I find that instruction guides save me a lot of time.  I'd like to get this thing running by June and it will be an after work, weekends project.

Any pointers on the order of assembly...where to start...would be highly appreciated.

I have my suzuki 160 engine tore down and i am redoing all too end gaskets and rings and maybe gonna do values. So i pulled the values and the exhuast value is pretty bad. It is probably a 1/16 inch of hit and miss pieces of carbon up about 3/4inch of the stem. and the intake has some hit and miss chucks off carbon circle part. The piston doesnt have much. It has a layer but not even a complete layer. The head also has some a good layer. So how do guys say i should go about cleaning it off. My uncle said to use a wire wheel but i am pretty uncomfortable with that. I read spraying water in the carb after i put it back together. I also read a scotch bright and carb cleaner after i reassemble.
Then there is always sea foam.
So what do say i should do. Shindy values are only $25. I am trying to stay low cost and i am planing to sell this after im done but i want wanna half as* it and screw some one over. Thanks guys.
