2002 Sportsman 500 HO 4x4 Fluids

I am wondering if anyone uses fluids other than the Polaris fluids from dealer to service their machine.

If so, what brands?

Are other fluids from say Oreilly just as good?

Also, do you prefer steel or aluminum wheels? Why?

every manufacturer will tell you their oil is best to use in their machines, but, any high brand atv oil is also good to run. i didnt use yamalube this time, i went with rotella full synthetic. steel wheels are more durable than alloy, but i have never had a problem with alloy .....

So, Castrol Synthetic 10W-40 wouldn't be a replacement for Polaris Premium 4 synthetic 10W-40?

well, according to polaris, no, but a substitute yes ...

just be sure to uae an atv oil, whatever brand, it has the additives for the transmission ...
