2005 Yamaha Kodiak - No Power In Reverse

When I back up with a load on the atv makes a sort of muffled backfiring noise and does not seem to have very much power. Any ideas?

there is an over-ride button on the left handlebar ...

Do you have a picture? From what I have read there is no switch and you need to ground a green and white wire out of the CDI. The side effect is no reverse light.

Well now, after looking in the manual, yours and the grizzly 450 dont come with an override button .... why i dont know. My apologies ...

i dont know if there is anything you can do to it stock to eliminate your condition, however, there is a simple mod you can do ... 02 - 03 Reverse OR

I have not had the cover off yet. Which side is it on? How does it come off?

it says left side, but didnt say sitting on the bike, but i think the wiring runs down that side (sitting) ...
