Good evening from New Mexico. I am Darren, a new member here. I have a large family so trying to keep 6 ATVs running is a chore some months. Looks like a good resource here, I am actively working on two ATVs due to a rough camping trip leading to 2 of 3 ATVs being towed back to the trailer. I will start some new threads specific to each repair. I own 5 Polaris machines and one Kawasaki. My son was riding the Polaris 110cc, apparently hitting every rock he could and almost ripped the rear end off. One Polaris Phoenix 200 somehow ran out of oil so doing a motor rebuild. I will post both in more detail with pictures. Look forward to contributing here.

Joined up today after my neighbor gifted our family a 1988 Yamaha YFM200DX for the boys to ride around in the yard. It's in decent shape but needs a good bit of things fixed to be a safe machine for the kids to learn how to ride. Ordered a bunch of OE and aftermarket parts today to start the rebuild/reconditioning process and have the machine stripped of it's plastics currently. Debating on stripping it down to the frame and doing a full restore on it, just not sure if the boys will be willing to wait that long to ride it around. Neighbor replaced a lot of parts on it, including the carb, which leaks fuel when the tank petcock is left on, thinking this may just be a float issue. Also, as it currently sits, it will not run under load but will idle fine. Going to take the carb apart to clean and inspect it, drain the tank and clean it, then go from there. Lots to do for sure, open to any suggestions if anyone has dealt with similar issues and found the culprit. I've worked on cars for a long time and this is the first 4 wheeler I've owned, so learning as I go.

OK gang, first post so don't bust me up too bad. I am so out of my element here because I usually wrench Jeeps and an intermittent Charger.
I am taking a 250cc Zongshen engine and grafting it into a 2002 Yamaha Blaster. After modding mounts, carb, intake etc. I have ran into the problem of the engine harness to wiring harness. Both have 5 wires for the mag but the colors don't match. anyone have any experience with bridging the gap between the two? The first picture also has a 6 pin connector that I have no idea about. The second and third pictures are the loose engine wires and wiring harness with the connector. The whole project is sitting at about 95% and I'm ready to finish it. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
