I have been starting my Kodiak all winter to make sure the battery was charging. I took it out on a ride last week 7 parked it. Went out today to go for a ride & when I tried to start it it made a buzzing noise when I pushed the starter button. It was in neutral & I put it in park & still no luck. I then put it back in neutral & it started. I turned it off & tried to start it again & it made the buzzing noise. It won't start now. The buzzing noise is coming from the left side off the atv on the back end. That is when I was sitting on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have taken my seat off & believe my problem is the starter solenoid. It has a 30 amp fuse & a spare fuse with it. The fuses look good. I also checked the starter fuse & it seems to be good. Any help please. Would like to ride tomorrow. Thanks

with a sxrewdriver, try crossing the two posts with it, it will spark, but if it turns over, it is the solenoid. you could try to clean the connections there with sandpaper and add some dielectric grease to keep the connection clean, or vaseline (petroleum based)

Check your battery voltage - keep your volt meter on the battery when you hit the starter button. Drop of 2+ volts without the engine turning over and you've got a dead cell. Try jiggling your connections at the battery, corrosion there at a tight connection will keep it from starting and cause the solenoid to buzz.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

I like to ride in wooded and grassy areas. It takes my mind off the everyday routines and helps me deal with my father's cancer. Also gives me a reason to get involved with forums like this one.

Hi my name is Greg and I just acquired a free 2000 yamaha kodiac 400 4x4 with the ultramatic transmission that does not run. I plan to get it going and use it around my property

I hadn't driven my Kodiak for a two months, and since it was low on fuel, the first thing I did was filled it up to maybe 7/8 full. Getting ready to start it, I rotated the fuel selector switch to "on" and within seconds I smelled and saw fuel dripping onto the floor. I quickly turned it off and the fuel gradually stopped - I can repeat this.
The fuel is flowing from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the carb, and routes around to the left side toward the wheel well. Any idea what's going on here? It ran fine the last time I had it out.
      Thanks...

Bought 4 wheeler for kids. Used to run and soon as it was put in gear it died. I have put new carburater, new plug and battery. The neutral light won't come on. I replaced the solenoid, then the positive battery cable and today put new relay assembly on. Still no neutral light. Not getting any juice and I don't know why.
