It could be but the thermostat housing has a small bypass allowing coolant to flow throughout the system so there is flow to the radiator.   Plus the coolant does make it to the top end on the return side and that heat will rise to the radiator.

yea true- didnt think about that.  shoot my sportsman 500 ran awesome with no coolant for months until i noticed the reservoir was empty and filled it up

  2. is it overheating all the time or just when your using it in a tight spot (in low or pulling a load- high rpms and low speed ect) or out on the trail?  im thinking you may have a different issue as it really should depend on the fan all the time to keep cool.  the fan is for keeping air moving through the radiator when the atv is sitting or moving slowly.  also if your radiator is plugged with mud or dirt it will not cool regardless of having the fan or not.

  3. for the pull start issue i would check for a decompression valve on the head of the machine- sometimes they are there- sometimes not but that would make it easier.  if not its prolly just jammed up in your pull start assembly which is usually an easy enough fix

thats a nice bike though- heard good things about the torque those 660s make.

It could be a bad rectifier also once it gets warmed up.  Very possible.

yea i didnt think about that..  i was pretty sure with my bike it was due to me rebuilding it with a used piston and rings off another atv that i rebuilt lol.  but it could be the case with your atv

You definitely get what you pay for.  Those cheap off brands from China don’t last.

no they dont and theyre so hard to fix and find parts for- its like they blow an ignition coil and they're totaled- not worth replacing

  6. yea theres definitely a carb issue going on.  does your quad start sputtering once it gets hot and trying to cut out on you?  just wondering because i had a yamaha warrior that was collecting gas and oil in the airbox and it would run awesome until it warmed up and then it would quit

and that bike didnt have a fuel pump- just gravity fed

True but you gained a ton of knowledge and you cant put a price on that! Now you will be able to tear into another one down the road and know whats what.   You don't forget things like that.   It may take a minute or two to jog your memory but it will come back to you should you ever take another one apart.

    dang right👍

  8. i gotta 2017 570 too and its been a great machine.  i would check for any loose connections between the stater and the battery.  also check that your stater isnt blown and check your reg rectifier.

im running a $30 dollar cheap aftermarket battery in mine and it does fine- has a little issue turning over with i have the lights on or some draw on it but thats because it was made for a 300cc atv, not a 570 lol.  not sure what the cca are on it

Sold it 5 years ago. It was leaking into the oil through the cylinder.  Took a while to figure out why the oil level was rising on it's own. You can't replace the seat and I tried every trick I could to fix it. Finally gave up and bought a used one off Ebay

yea they go like that sometimes.  you got a quad to replace it?

    Another blast from the past!
I too love working on things but love it more when you get paid!!

yea haha money dont grow on trees.  the guy did pay me for parts and labor on this and the big bear he brought me to rebuild for him.  those were his only atvs and havnt heard from him since so i guess that good?  lol

Dam @JacobSlabach this was a blast from the past post.
$3200 was a good price for that bike.

yea it was the best flip ive had so far- NADA guide said it was worth $2500 at the time.  guy came said he needed a trail ready bike, i told him this thing wouldn't let him down, he was fine with what i was asking and took it home

what was even better is the bike that took its spot in the shed was the 570 i got now and i picked that one up for $3600 as is- have about $4000 into it now with extras and all

  12. awesome.  im picking up info on it bit by bit..  i guess this is kinda one of those things where only practice makes perfect...unless maybe you have that college degree- and still, theres nothing like hands on for this type of stuff.  i like how @Frank Angerano did it with his son i think it was- to take an old quad with a shot motor or one he was rebuilding and take it all apart and just get a good feel for what everything looks like and how it all works.  aint nothing like it👍
