  1. taking out the shim on the secondary wont solve the prob.. the main clutch is ware the squeal issue is usually coming from.. I have raced snowmobiles and snowmobile powered quads and its the main clutch that is not closing fast enough or it hangs up and you get a squeal.. if you want to really get into it you need to change the spring and spring rate and put a shim in it to get it away from the slight groove that is there ware it sits at idle .. and you can change the the spire that has the sharp angles and the rollers and really get the issue solved .. but it gets expensive ..if you can put a shim in the main clutch to get the clutch face slightly closer to the belt it should stop the squeal..i have extensive experience with the clutch systems on these machines ..

  2. my 03 650 does that same thing also... I have a shim to put in mine if I can ever get around to it .. the shim is cheap.. but a pain the the but cause ya gotta take the clutch apart to install it ..a clutch kit will also solve it ..I have fixed the same issue b4 on a 700 with the clutch spring kit ..it allows the motor to rev just a little more b4 it grabs ...

  3. a wench is always nice to have ..and also a tow strap.....aftermarket air filter .... exhaust if ya dont mind a little more noise....a good set of tires... add on lites if ya do any riding at nite ...a radio/sterio with water proof speakers... just 2 list a few goodies..lol..

  4. a friend has 1 with 27 inch mud lites and a 2 inch lift an his wheels are 1 inch dider than stock an it does pretty damn good ..another friend has the prairie 700 and he is running 29 inch tires and aftermarket 2 inch wider wheels and the 2 inch lift with a clutch kit and full exhaust system.. and it screams through the mudd...lol.

  5. im an atv mechanic and motor builder ..and i change mine about every 2 to 3 tanks of fuel (20 to 25 hours)of ride time ..and i also use rotella 15w-40 in my machines ..its fine to use this on wet clutch machines ...and i also do some racing of several different types with different atv's i own...and with your machine being water cooled you could go just a little longer maybe 30 hours b4 the oil change ... but i would do it at around 20 to 25 hours run time.. yu can buy a small and cheap digital hour meeter and install it on your atv under the seat to make it easyer to keep track of run time ..
