I order a used shop manual off eBay. I'm going to go thru everything. Strange thing is I went out to the garage yesterday and have it a quick try and it started right up. I tried to start it intermittently for 2 weeks with nothing. Not sure what this means, but it's odd to me.

Hi, I'm new here. I just pulled my sportsman 550 into the garage to start troubleshooting. It was a little slow to start the other day, then the next time I tried, it just turns over. Doesn't even sputter. I bought the quad new in 2011, and it doesn't have a ton of use. I will start with the basics, but I thought maybe someone on this site might have some useful input. I have a feeling it has something to do with fuel injection, but I don't have any reason to think that yet. I am ok at mechanics, but haven't worked on much when it comes to f.i. anyway, thought I'd introduce myself.

Hello, I'm Levi. I have a 2011 sportsman 550. I've owned a late 90s grizzly 600, and a 230 quad sport when I was younger. I also have a 2011 ktm exc530 (dirt bike) that I ride with my son on his crf230. I live on an island in nw WA state

I had a quad sport from around that year. There is something cool about Suzuki quads from that era

I grew up on a pseudo farm (22 acres). Started with dirt bikes (used 84 Honda xr100.) I read dirt wheels magazine and would fantisize about quads. I was able to save up enough from bucking hay in the summer to buy a 230 quad sport around middle school age. I really liked that quad. Shortly after high school I drove to Oregon and bought my first brand new quad (grizzly 600). My parents had a cabin up in remote British Colombia and they bought two sportsman 500's that we'd ride on endless logging roads and trails up there. The biggest concern was getting lost. At some point I sold the grizzly and a few years later I bought my current 2011 sportsman 550. I've recently got back into dirt bikes, and I ride with my 14 yr old son because he's into bikes. The older I get, the more I feel like quads are looking better.

I use the battery tender jr. I have a bunch of them. Quad, dirt bike, generator, tractor, lawn mower. They are really great, especially when you have a quad w/o pull start. Many times I have wished my quad had pull start as a backup.

Thank you. I will check that once I am allowed. Here is the info from my title 2011 polaris sportsman model SXE Style AT Series SPM550EP It has power steering and fuel injection. I made some room and pulled it into the garage. I am going to start removing plastics and checking things out. I am past due for fluid changes, so I am going to go for it and get everything done. I am guessing I might have a clogged fuel injector, or fuel filter. I look forward to using this webpage as a resource. Thanks again

Hello. Just signed up. This is my first post. I have a 2011 sportsman 550 eps. It has been used around the farm, so lower than average miles/hours. Last week I took it for a short ride and it took longer than usual to start. The next time I tried to start it, it turned over but won't fire up. It is in the garage now. I was hoping to find a shop manual on this site, but doesn't look like any have been uploaded for me specific model yet.
