Hard to believe a Kymco is pulling all that weight, i guess the powered trailer wheels are doing it, how do you plan to get power to the trailer wheels.

So the plug is attached to the harness in the frame and the loose wires are connected to the dash assembly, hard to follow in your description. Are the wire colors the same. Im assuming you want to cut out the plug and attach the wires directly. It may work if you know which wires goes where, but not sure how you could be sure of that or if the dash is even correct for that model. I think i would try to find the correct dash with the correct plug and even then if its not for exactly the same year and model may not work. There are so many electrical things going on there that change from model to model and year to year. Thats the answer that will most be more likely to work the simplest. I dont always do things the simplest way, i would not cut out the plug but maybe see if i could figure out the wiring with multiple wiring diagrams but that is my curiosity taking over and i cant really describe how to do that, its a lot of trial and error.

Bear Tracker YFM250X Gears Slipping No Reverse

Not sure if this is the type shifter you have not sure of your yesr. If it is you need to take the cable loose, or you may try adjusting it first, if no luck remove the cable, take the mechanism out, there is a small ball that gets corroded and sometimes wont let the shifter move correctly. That is the first place i would look. -
Since those days i have developed a great respect for those 1200cc 40HP engines, not a lot of engine or car for that matter for those days. Wide open it would go 72 MPH downhill with a good tail wind, but it would do that all day long. Great cheap German Made product, was not accepted with open arms so soon after the war. Same with Japanese but Honda kind of smoothed that over with there fun little motorcycles of the 60s and slogan, You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda.

I have been entertaining the idea of putting one of these wireless conversion kits on my older warn winch, the winch works great but i also have a bad rocker switch. https://www.amazon.com/Winch-Kit-Solenoid-Relay-2000-5000lbs/dp/B09ZT25NXX/ref=sr_1_23?crid=3MTNMLBPVC86N&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.t25q7-n5QrKISJx_YbNlT3BobJQ9S1eRYoxP3UCGDcsubw9bKzQctDZEijA6apCWizCLLp4mSS1L9wxpd4RW0g2ZOVDQKMun5wmHZtdzeXCmDBWVMpT8dUuytEqN8KVTuhqOfAhJxdyi8BeE4WahBW2nbVAgVzYPLAqboQYFaEhpsF6Db_Xyr8glQu20LWGMum_cNjGq4ZJsmNA-hkZXXySedmL1u0n6n8ZocgVhxXm2V3f7Vhvte_Te2Rb7rAw0a2DeI3ZgIPW-87XtqzvXW_54oNwOj-yC1EO48NyzoAU.UwmasnuRl2s1yHEWzotaQ1FHmuIOo40t7-B8jC7N-2s&dib_tag=se&keywords=convert+winch+to+wireless&qid=1752724947&sprefix=convert+winch+to+wireless%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-23

I have seen that done also, and it woud work for spreading broken ground, but hard on engine and transmission on braking new ground. The best option would be to pull a disc behind the ATV or they make a tiller you pull behind ATV with its own engine.

Sorry guys I have been gone for a week, looks like i missed all the fun stuff. I didnt take my computer and didnt keep up. Where are we at on the rebuild now. I will try to answer a few of your questions. Yes you need to remove all of the old carbon from valves and piston. A ring compessor is nice and i have one but i generally use my hand to press down the spring and remove the keepers with a magnetic tool. I would put the rings in the cylinder and check the ring gap with a feeler guage the manual will tell you the servicable limit, Butting together with no gap means there is no ring wear. But check it with the feeler guage to measure the gap. When you put the ring in the cylinder put the piston in behind it an bump slightly to level up the ring and then check the gap.

Just got back from Florida also, Pensecola, home of the Blue Angels, you dont even want to know how many people were down there for the show. Five hrs to go 20 miles to the Perdido Key where we had a condo. Great time didnt see any sharks but many dolphins. -
All engines of that era needed high Sulfur-Zinc oils it provided better lubrication for the metals used at that time for the engines, of course during that era all oils were of that consistancy, they may have been a few synthetic oils around but were not very good and not widely used. There were also softer metals used in the valves and the lead in the gasoline helped with lubrication there. I still run a couple of older engines factory specs and use a lead substitute in the gas. The volkswagon engine was probably the most underrated and ignored engine of the 60s in the first truly simplistic compact car. It was simple to the max everything you needed to get from A to B. I was one of those people never owned one never wanted one, but i have seen those engines sit in a junkyard for 30 + years and within 2 hrs you can have it running truly a great engine easy to work on and run. I always wanted to build what you have from a volkwagon frame but took the easy way out got a jeep CJ5 instead, been running it 40+ years never let me down.
-
So you have a Wolverine thats a nice ride, what problems are you having. I have never owned a Side By Side, i have an old Jeep CJ5 i use, so have not needed one.
-
That sounds like a nice one, not a really steep price for new. You should not have any tranny problems for many years, but you are right their trannys are quite complicated, like a car automatic transmission.

I did find this manual it may help: ATV400-B 4 x4 Manual (1).pdf

1995 Polaris magnum 425 will not run with airbox hooked up
Gwbarm replied to Kurt Reiser's topic in Polaris ATV Forum
That is a good recommendation, not sure why it would need that since it is the OEM carb, you might also try the needle in a different position. -
Thats a tough one, never seen one and what liitle bit i know about them is that they had a fairly robust engine, a chinese clone of the Rotox engine thats comes in the can-Am. The company went bankrupt a few years back and was taken over by Massimo, until recently, last i heard they were trying to get back out on their own. I could not find any manuals but i wasnt sure what year you had. Glad you are taking it on, i myself like a good challenge, the only problem i see is, you may have trouble finding parts. Good luck!

Sounds like you may be getting to much fuel or to little fuel through the injector, is the plug wet. I would check fuel pump pressure also. Its also possible you have an air leak causing to lean a mixture.

What a story, i dont know how i missed that. After your post i read up on it. One interesting point from several accounts was that MEN IN BLACK guys showed up shortly after the sightings, the witnesses said they had translucent pale skin and talked like robots, and shortly after that he was never seen again. Another one i read was that CHIEF CORNSTALK who was a peaceful indian from the late 1700s put a curse on the area because he was killed for not taking sides against the red coats. -
There was a seller on Ebay a few years back selling genuine mikuni carbs, i bought one for my big bear, but had to contact them to find it , wasnt listed. The name was NIKKI CYCLE. They may be able to help you find one. They werent as expensive as OEM but more than chinese. You might check to see if they are still around.
-
Thats crazy there should be one that drains it all probably the one in the center. But i have never seen one so shouldnt be commenting.

Interesting statue, whats the story on that. -
Thats interesting, never tried it, wasnt even sure a kit would fit the chinese carb. I have seen thread differences jet differences choke differences. But you are right OEM for that year is hard to find.I looked everywhere for Tim and i havent found one for that year yet.
-
I have never used one, always thought they were to cheap to be high quality parts. I always go back with OEM parts when it comes to piston and rings. I have used many Niche parts and they are one of the better aftermarket manufacturer, never had a problem with any of their parts, I looked up the rebuild kit and it only got 2.5 stars, pretty low satisfaction rating. I did notice that one of their(Niche) kits come with Weiseco Piston so if the rings are also Weiseco i wouldnt have a problem using that, just read the specs very carefully before you order.

That philosophy only applies to younger riders. As you get older you take a fall, you get up very slowly, first thing is to make sure everything still works. You dont just shake your head and go about your business as you did when you were younger. Im a motorcycle rider also , after my last spill i got up slowly and noticed my left shoulder down my rib cage was not working. Went to the Dr got X rays nothing broken but in severe pain for a month couldnt lay flat, still have trouble walk different i think it knocked my spine out of alignment. Needless to say i dont really ride much anymore, certainly not on interstate or heavy traffic, people have very little respect for motorcycle riders. Sorry to hear about your suffering!

I use Power sports Nation and Ebay for used parts, it took me a while but i finally found OEM carbs for all mine. Purchased them and rebuilt them with a reputable carb kit, most times you dont need a kit but OEM gaskets are as much as the whole kit, so i go that route just to get the gaskets.
