  1. If you like vintage bikes you should go to Barber Vintage Festival in Alabama in October its a big deal about 20 to 30 thousand people attend each year. Vintage motorcycle races, swap meets and new motorcycle vendors lots of fun.
  2. Welcome to the forum! You are quite busy and have plenty to do. Glad to have you, look forward to your posts. With all that stuff you have repaired ATVs will be a breeze for you.
  3. You have a direct short somewhere if its blowing the fuse immediately after turning on the switch, i would replace the rusted soloenid. It should start manually without that, are you getting spark, the short maay be affecting the ignition system i would still start at the soloenoild and check out the starter if shorted it would be pulling a lot of voltage causing your problem
  4. Great job excellent work , you covered all the bases and your information is very informative. Thanks for sharing!
  5. A MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) code on a Honda Rubicon indicates a problem detected by the vehicle's onboard diagnostics system. Common issues can include sensor failures or electrical problems. If it was dunked i would suspect a sensor connection problem and if the ECM got wet maybe shorted.
  6. Always glad to hear vintage motorcycle storys i have had the bug ever since my first, 1962 Sears Allstate Moped, ithink i was 9, most fun i ever had, i cant count how many times i peddled that POS home, after that i graduated to hondas, i think i was around 14 i traded 25 8 track tapes for a CL90 and rebuilt it completely. I currently have about 15.
  7. Looks too late for grease, i think the bushings need replacing.
  8. Welcome to the group! Your experience with Suzuki will be a big asset.
  9. Not the best one i have ever looked at but it may help. 1626528869850.pdf
  10. Im not sure how well it holds up over the years but it sure is nice on your hands and strong.
  11. That should be great for him powerful for a 200 but not overpowered.
  12. Oreileys sells WIX
  13. It is built into the exhaust system and removable to be able to clean it.
  14. Just do a search for what size tubes fit what ever size tires you have, you base what you are looking for on the rim diameter and tire size.
  15. Nice trailer, it just fits perfect.
  16. Sorry to hear you are having problems with one so new. I would kill the power to the machine and let the display reboot and see if that helps, if not trace the wires to the engine and make sure they are all in tact. Is this automatic shift!
  17. Those vacum petcocks go bad with age. Check to make sure you are getting fuel flow in the prime position, if so fill the carb bowl with fuel start it and turn the petcock to the on position and see how long it runs, if it continues to run, good, if it runs for a while starts running bad and dies the petcock is bad. The other problem with these Quads is the magnets on the flywheel come loose they generally stay in place but are continuously moving around in a radial direction which can also cause running issues.
  18. Yes i would go ahead and replace both check the timing gear over good to see if it is in good shape. You also might want to replace the timing chain.
  19. Did you check with the manual to see what the compression is supposed to be with the decompression mechanism. Sometimes compression reads low because of the decompression mechanism.
  20. The tires on your Honda look very similar to the Bear Claw EX i just purchased, low profile tread which is what i wanted for the riding i do, although the specs say they are as good in mud as the original Bear Claw K299, i dont see how, i dont do much mud riding anymore so that wasnt important to me, use it mostly for work around my property and didnt want an aggressive tread that would tear up the ground.
  21. You should see about 14.5 volts at the battery with it running if charging correctly. Thats assuming regulator and rectifier is working correctly, if higher than that regulator is bad.
  22. Good work finding that, sometimes broke wires are hard to find.
  23. Exxon and Chevron around here both have it, but they claim its not an Exxon or Chevron product not sure where it comes from. Its about 1.00 a gallon more and it only comes in 87 octane have not seen any 100 octane at any gas stations.
  24. Sounds like it might be a starter circuit relay should be 2 small black boxes close to battery wiring in their own little rubber holder one is probably bad.
  25. Im not really that familiar with that particular Mikuni, but it sounds like you are still clogged up somewhere. Did you take out the emulsion tube and clean it sludge getting in there is hard to clean out without pulling it. Most do have manual chokes via a thumb lever, make sure the plunger is working as it should, there is an adjustment for that.
