  1. Hey all,

so i am about to start a project of getting a 2004 Kazuma Dingo 150 back to working after it has not been turned on or touched really in 2 years. i couldnt find any forums on this or help on google.

I want to flush the fluid systems; oil, brakes, gas, etc. im curious as to what the best way to flush the system and clean them internally im new to the whole ATV scene as well as im not an expert mechanic or anything. Id like to get the internals clean but dont want to ruin anything either. Just curious what you guys do and what works for you and especially what i should stay away from doing.

ive had to do this with several mowers, quads, and a couple boat motors..... wat i always do is completely drain everything... change the oil filter and clean out any screen mesh tht is in the lines for filtering...... after tht fill her up with new everything and fire it up..... ride it around for a lil bit to get everything circulating then drain all out again and fill back up.... after tht it should run pretty clean.... as for the fuel... buy you some fuel cleaner at a gas station and dump the correct amount in shown on the bottle.... tht will flush her out pretty good..... i always use "marvel mystery oil"

  2. lol i thought that would be bad due to the excessive power of a car running compared to the power needed on a quad.... well then i guess ill be stocking up on spark plugs

i see well then i guess ill look at getting another marine battery.

Side bar; Jerod you wouldnt by chance know anything about the gas pump would you?

ohh and as far as the excessive power it wont hurt it i did it with my 400ex and with a ridning mower and it didnt cause any problems

hahaha ya spark plugs can be a needed thing wen restoring a quad lmao:laugh:.........sidebar; by gas pump do u mean taking the pump out and putting just a normal gas line?? tht gas pump should not be stock i would say someone put it on there u should be able to take it off and just put a straight hose runnin from the tank to the carb... help??

  4. Damn this project looks like its going to get a bit pricey in the near future haha. i guess ill see what the old spark plug has left in it before i get a new one.

Do you think buying a new battery is beneficial or sticking to the boat battery it has in it now? If fresh is better should i get a new boat one that it has right now or you thinking just getting an actual ATV battery that is meant to be used in this quad?

if you dont want to spend money on a battery right now u dont need to if you are just gonna try to get it runnnin..... just drive your car or truck up to it with the motor on and hook some jumper cables to it...... u can crank it all day like tht haha.................... and the spark plug you can scrub it with a wire brush several times before it just wont work anymore............. i went through 4 spark plugs before i got my 400ex runnin again lol.......personally a mairine battery is basically an upgrade to your quad lol. it will last wayyyy longer than your average quad battery:yes:

  5. i tried starting it 4 days ago and the battery is still somewhat good the lights start up but i only tried once because i didnt want to damage the quad because i know it hasnt been started in over a year and the fluid and gas changes are kind of a given. i just wanted to confirm if it was a dingo 150 so i buy all the correct fluids and battery before i start this project. I plan to replace the spark plug so thats not a big deal

yes it is a 150 dingo i checked it......ohh and wen u get new battery if ya dont want it to go dead from tryin to start over and over hook up some jumpers to it so it wont go dead..... if its like my 400 was wen it hadnt ben started for a year and a half its prolly gonna foul out several spark plugs before it fires up

  6. If you need any more pictures or would like a closer look at anything let me know i can always get post more pictures of it. if i remember correctly the chain looks like it is rusted a bit so im thinking of changing that if necessary[/QUO

and yes replacing the chain would be a good idea since it is rusted plus it probably is stretched a lil and you dont want tht:no:

  7. well first thing is have you tried to start it.... if not i would make sure your spark plug is still good, put a fresh battery in it, drain all gas oil and any other fluids and then try to crank it over and see wat she does....... after you have done all of tht u will just have to ride it a lil and see wat elso all needs to be done............... any help at all??

  8. im still trying to get my chain on my raptor. i ve been trying to get the master link on my chain the last couple days . i got it shortened to the right length and got the out side plate to snap on . no i m just trying to get the snap ring on. the first one broke in half. the second one snaped off and flew across my shed somewhere. and i had one more and got it ,sat down to put on and it MIA . have no idea where it went to. i m going to pull my hair out soon. i got all my other parts on but that. i just want to get it done so i can ride. :aargh:

i feel sory for ya man:frown:..... i had the exact same problem with my 400ex wen it was time to put a chain on it...
