If you go 750hrs you won`t have any valves left !!! I use to do mine 2 times a year !!! on my 450R i do them every 50hrs or so !!!
well i guess u would have some left... cause mines over 750 i no it is lol:laugh:
-
How many total hours do you have on the machine? if you know... Because it is good to get valve adjustments like every 750 hours
uh hahaha it was bought in 2002 new and has never had the motor open since lol
-
Then i would just start with an adjustment. How many hours do you have on that?
hours?? u mean tht the motor has been tickin while riding it
-
Are you able to do at least a valve adjustment by yourself? Because that might be all that is wrong with it and that way you will save a little money
idk never tried it..... money to do the job isnt a problem i have an older cousin tht nos how to do all tht
-
Ya it ran great for the time that i was able to run it... my starter clutch went out a little while after that so it isnt running right now. But when i replaced the valves, i had my timing chain off by 1 chain link and my piston was hitting my valves again, and i was worried about my valves bending but i got that fixed again at work this time and the valves werent bent at all and it ran great after that too.
thts good mine is drivable just dont like the ticking noise lol and the way it acts in 5th

I dont know much about the best brand to get, they all gotta be somewhat good if they still make their product, so the brand isnt a big deal. I would go just look for your best price. I did the valve job on mine and it was like 18$ for one an 26$ for the other and they worked fine when it was running
ahh isee.... thts good urs runs great

take the rocker cover/cam cover off .. an make shure that the rockers and sub rockers are moving freely .. and go from there ... they can stick really quickly from loss of oil
stick for tht long of time lol:huh:

ck says to get the kibble brand valves and guides and you should be ok with that[/QUO

$500? Thats $50 shy of my initial investment on this 230S!! Maybe I'll just throw a tube in the leaky one until I can put together that kinda of scratch... This hobby is a cash only venture for me, no credit or financing allowed (according to the boss)!!!
lol ya if ya wanna play u gotta pay lol:yes:

My earlier post about creeping forward/reverse when tranny engaged and shifter sticking in reverse and forward has been repaired. I removed the primary clutch and took it to a polaris dealer in kingston on.. It turns out that the brass shims on either side of the ebs bearing are designed to wear out so as not to cause further damage. Mechanic replaced the two shims and also replaced the three weights , as they too were starting to wear into the spiders. Cost was approx. 130.00cad. The belt was riding on the clutch sheave on one side causing the secondary clutch to become engaged. This was affecting the shifting lock-up as well. I also put a belt on the 500 cc that is designed for the 700 cc series. The mech. said it would give better performance and durability. Bike is back to working like a charm
Glad to here u got it fixed..... if ya wanna play u gotta pay

a friend of mine might be buyin a 450r and was wonderin if it would have a chance against these 2 quads tht some other friends of mine have
-
If I had the money I would get myself a set of Maxxis RAZRs. I don't so I have Carlisle on my TB now.
Same here my buddy has maxis razrs2 and he never gets stuck but they r expensive
-
Ight guys got some opinions which would be harder for the 450r to beat.... 05 pred with airbox cut off and an hmf balance slipon rejetted.... or an 07 outlaw 525 with an hmf performance slip on rejetted.... need facts and reasons y which one would win in a drag and the 450r being any where from stock to full exhaust k&n filter cam and bored with pistons
-
ok thanks guys really apreciate it
