Ok guys, I am a glutton for punishment! I picked up this 01 2wd Rancher because the plastics looked good on the marketplace. It has been sitting in the guys back yard for 10 years. The original engine blew and they swapped in an electric shift 4x4 engine. 😒The engine is locked up and was full of water. The wiring is hacked where they tried to get it to run and the rear end needs new swingarm bearings where they left it laying on the ground in the woods for 10 years. Has anyone here ever did the engine swap? First thing is to straighten out the wiring and get the engine free to see if I can get it to crank over. I have swingarm bearings ordered and a new ignition switch. So hopefully I can at least roll it around soon. 🤣

My friends KQ 300 starts fine and runs, as soon as you put it in gear and try to accelerate its bucks and farts like crazy, not moving... I cleaned carb and it worked good for 1 day... now back to same problem.... could it be such as a bent valve????

Hello folks, my machine wound up with I think water in the tank etc. It runs but speeds up and slows back down randomly. When not running I don't see gas dripping from the drain nipple on bottom of float bowl and drain screw is closed tight. With normal idle speed I see no leaking. When the idle speed increases quite a bit on it's own, gas appears to start slowly dripping from float bowl drain nipple? I'm wondering if the carb is flooding and the gas is actually coming from higher up and just appears, to be coming out of nipple but, is actually running down the sides of the nipple? I put a kit in the factory Mikuni carb last year after sitting for a while and I think the gas in the jug I used had drawn moisture. I plan to pull the carb tomorrow and clean everything out. I was just curious if anyone else thinks it's probably something in the carb and is, acutally a flooding problem? Thanks Folks! 🙂

While riding a 1985 Honda ATC 200S in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey I had my most memorable crash. This was over thirty years ago and no injury happened to my trike, me or my buddy Joe. I was hammering the gas to try to keep up with Joe's faster 1986 Honda ATC 250SX when out of nowhere he stopped. His brake light wasn't working so by the time I realised he was stopped it was too late. I lined up my front wheel to his right rear wheel and SMACK! I flew over the bars and Joe's right shoulder. I did a flip landing flat on my back in soft sand. While I flipped over Joe he looked over his left shoulder and missed the whole thing. We laughed it off and kept riding.
