Let’s get after it !!!

Today is February 11,2017. I know some of us ride all year round and a lot of us ride the warmer months.  Before you know it March is here and it’s the spring thaw with it! So to all my fellow atv, and 4x4 enthusiasts that are sitting on a broken bike or a bike that needs work let’s get after it!!!!! Don’t be left behind waiting.  Oil changes, repairs, upgrades let’s get out to the garage, barn, backyard or wherever you have your bike and get going.  Lets see some pics, ask the questions, Don’t be shy. Let’s  hear what you have planned for the upcoming months ahead. Trips, outings etc. Let’s get going now and be ready!  Hope to see a good response from everyone and I also hope that you riders have a lot of riding/mudding plans in your future. Remember you only live once!!!

Love this topic! Inspired me. I plan cleaning up my Grizzly, I have a lot of rust I'm seeing. I uses a snowsport plow system now in the winter and the bar is covered with rust. Once there is no threat of snow, I'm going to take it off and wire wheel the rust off. Then I'll spray some rust converter/primer and then some spray paint. I have to check my front end for play, replace my fuel petcock (because it's leaking), and clean the beast up in general. Beside riding, I have to get her ready for some yard work, grading (have an attachment), and some other things. Need to replace my winch rope, it snapped, and see about my front bumper. I'll try to post some of these things as we get into the spring.

I do my work in the spring to get ready for riding season. I don't leave anything broken, spring is the time I inspect the machines and replace the spark plug, check bushings/bearings and so forth. Sometimes ill take the winch out and clean it out.

I bought her a new machine last year so it shouldn't need anything yet. Her old quad was overhauled last year and since its a spare, it has little miles so it won't need much.

Awesome reply. Sounds like you have some work to do!!! I use a wire wheel attached to my grinder to clean the rust off of a lot of my parts and metal work.  Works great.  Safety glasses is a must!!   Can’t wait to see some pics.

I like having a spare bike. I have a 2001 bear tracker that’s a beast. This bike is a tough son of a gun, ITP rear tires that allow it to go a lot of places and actually have hurt a few feelings when some friends said the bike would not make it through some muddy terrain as they did on thier 4x4’s. 😂 But more importantly I have a few old buddy’s that like to come up and ride with us sometimes and the spare bike is nice to have.  I’m currently looking at a winch for the two bikes we have now but not sure if I’m going to put one on mine but my son is he’ll bent on having one on his.

I have to get a wire wheel bench setup. I only have an attachment I use on my screw gun.

A spare machine has come in handy a few times. Some of our trips are planned months in advanced, and if there is an unfortunate breakdown, well we grab the spare and ride. I also put the plow on the spare and leave it all winter. 

A winch is always a good idea to have.
