Recommended Posts

Hey everybody hope your'e all well, haven't posted for a while cuz its all been good, however today I was mowing and the oil temp light came on so I retreated to a shady spot and let the machine cool off for about 4 hrs. Went back out ot finish some mowing but key on 1st pos no response. 2nd pos lights . all good no recoil start?Maybe I'm just to old to pull it that many times.( two in the past?)So is there a oil temp switch that kills the motor and whats the reset?I just replaced the starter relay and battery is good? Any help is appreciated, cuz the grass just keeps growingtango_face_surprise.png '98 LTF4WDX

hey everyone, after my oil light came on I shut my KQ down to let it cool. 6 hrs later pos 1 on key no neutral light pos 2 lights come on no start ta both pos. 36 hrs later turned on key neutral light on and start , any ideas.?

@steve shugart I merged this ignition topic you created into your existing topic for 1998 Suzuki LT-F4WDX King Quad 300 No Start Oil Light. You had no ATV model info in your latest topic, so I assume its for the same King Quad which you already have a topic started for.

It might be your temp sensor that us faulty, not sure if there is an ignition cutoff on high temp.

Howdy Grizzly, the relay does not click nor does the neutral light come on. So I actually bump started it and suddenly the neutral light was working, then later I was moving the bike in reverse and when i pushed the shifter to forward no neutral light once again. At this point if I shut off the machine the starter will not function. my guess is the neutral switch is in the lead pos before the neutral relay and starter relay and is malfunctioning. MBG, what do you think?

      Greetings,
Have a 88 LT80 that been sitting for a couple years. Bought a new piston, cylinder and head. Installed these, rolled it over and it quickly locks up.  Took carb apart. It was full of what appears to be 2 cycle oil. Cleaned it, but keeps locking up and 2 cycle oil continues to seap from exhaust port.  When i installed new cylinder, I noticed crankcase was full of oil.  I'm now wondering if that oil is what's getting sucked up into cylinder.  Should there be no oil in crankcase?  If that the case, how is crank and rod lubricated?  Sorry, never worked on a 2 stroke. Thanks!

I see quite a few ads for that  Tribotex additive. It's kind of expensive, has anyone used it it their ATV or any other vehicle?

How often do you change oil in front/rear diffrentials and gearbox?

Has anyone else had an issue on older king quads where the oil would leak from the top of the head (due to a failed gasket) and drip onto the hot exhaust? Mine got so hot one time it caught fire. Just wondering if this is a common issue, as I've seen the same thing happen on multiple bikes that were the same model.
