2013 honda Rancher 4X4 420ES.  I've replaced the solenoid, put on a brand new battery.  Checked battery with tester and hit the starter button.....12+v.  Took the starter off to check the brushes, took armature out to see if it damaged, the magnets came out of the case attached to the armature.  Is that normal?  I thought the magnets were glued to the casing.  I'm hoping that I don't have to buy ANOTHER starter.  Help, guys...... I need it.  I didn't go to UTI.

And that would prevent the starter from turning?  Also, I failed to mention, when I took the starter back off from seeing if the atv would start, the starter was hot to the touch.  That the reason?

I was thinking the starter would at least make noise when you hit the button.  On 2nd thought...it did.  There was a fair t click at the starter...then nothing when I touched the start button.  Anyway...we'll see......new starter will be here Friday.  Maybe they should get a better epoxy.  #gorillaglue

Anybody familiar with this noise from my quad? Just started.  It temporarily goes away when I attempt to shift into another gear but shifting has gotten harder too.

      Thanks

I have a 2009 Honda Rancher TRX420FA with shifting problems.
Usually it shifts ok when cold but after couple minutes it will stop shifting with no codes.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in first gear is 74psi. The 2nd shift clutch oil pressure when in second gear is 74psi.
The 1st shift clutch oil pressure when in neutral is zero. The problem is when the tranny is in neutral the 2nd shift clutch pressure starts around 10-15psi and builds to 20psi. Is this normal?

      Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you have a Clutch Starter gear from a 1988 era quadrunner 250 sitting around that you could get me a precise measurement of the outer diameter of the race the sprag engages onto, for me? I need to machine a damaged race down and install a hardened sleeve and need that measurement (it's on a different gear than the OEM one, so I can't buy and use a OEM gear).

Hey guys, so I've been messing with my quad, and between all the starts, the battery is dead. Is there a certain way to charge these? Can I just throw a trickle charger on it and call it a day? can i also jump it like a normal car with a battery pack or is that to much voltage
