I have a 2005 Honda Rancher 2-stroke. It's been sitting for a while. Yesterday I started it up and it idles well.

When I tried to drive it, it bogs down and misses when I accelerate. Drained fuel, added new fuel and carb

cleaner, and let it idle for a few minutes. It still bogged down, and I noticed a fuel leak under the carb. There's

a tube from the bottom of the carb with something that looks like a filter. The gas was leaking from the end

of the tube. Anyone have any ideas as to what the tube is, and what it actually does?

That tube at the bottom has a one way check valve. Thats probably what you seeing and that is an overflow vent. That is overflowing because your seat and fuel bowl is probably clogged with gunk and thats the cause for both the drivability and the fuel leaking. Remove the carburetor disassemble it and clean it. Or get a nee carburetor

Gas is coming from that tube because your floats probably stuck Just clean/ rebuild your carb and if all else fails a new carb isnt too expensive and youll probably gain power.

Open up your carb ,the leak is the overflow hose the float needle must be dirty so it doesnt shut anymore . Quite an easy job ,i would recomend à full cleanup of the carb because it must have gunk up from sitting for a while next time you lets à machine sit for some time it would be à good idea to add fuel stabilizer
