So I traded my worked banshee for a supposed to be kfx400 with a 440 kit and hot cams with yoshimura pipe. Well I overlooked it now and came to the conclusion that it's a stock quad with a pipe. How do I know you ask?

The cylinder jug has 2 bars on it and every other has 3 for the big bore.

He only jetted the carb not buy the new one that's supposed to be bigger.

The cams are stock. After pulling the cover off.

And it's slower than the banshee.

Now that's why I won't believe anything this kid says. Sh**. He doesn't even know how to mix oil to gas. Has no clue how 2 strokes even work. Can't figure out how to jet for temp changes.

But I guess I'll be happy with what I have.

The point is. Don't trust people when buying bikes.

It’s always a risk when buying from another person.  I always bring a few tools along to open up a few things on the bikes I buy if they allow it and why shouldn’t they if there’s nothing to hide? A wire brush to clean a vin# so you can do a quick run on it to verify year model etc. But karma is a bi***! What goes around comes around!

Better off anyway bc if he can’t jet a carb then you sure as sh** don’t want him banging out cams!!!!

Yeah no kidding. At least I know what I'm doing with machines. If something breaks then it's a clean platform and I know what's done. I gave this kid all the papers for the banshee build. All the way down to the torque specs. But he has his hands full. He doesn't even know about simple things. Like what oils to use or how to adjust the clutch. He is clueless.

Karma sucks for him. He texts me all the time asking questions. I tell him to figure it out. I can't hold his hand. That's now his quad. LEARN IT.

I have a 2004 Kawasaki Lakota 300 and have to replace rear master cylinder and rear caliper. Does a new rear master cylinder need to be bench bled or bled separately or can I just bleed whole system like a regular brake-bleed? If it does need to be done separately or on bench how would I do this Thanks in advance

      Hello,

Acquired a used big bear 400 4x4 that would not start and debugged to compression issues. Tore down the head and determined the lower jug and piston were no good. Cleaned everything up well, got a lower new jug, piston, and all o ring / gaskets, and reassembled. Head bolts tightened to 30ft lbs which is slightly beyond spec of 29, but not grossly over.

ATV started right up after fix, but after idling about 5 mins, I noticed a small amount of oil weeping from the front bottom of the jug; you can see occasional oil bubbling out to surface through gasket. Note: I did ensure to include the rubber o ring on the bottom of jug. I also get white smoke, which appears to be coming out the spark plug side of the head gasket. The head gasket was a 3 ply metal gasket.

When I originally tore down the cylinder, there was black residue on all gasket mating surfaces. Should I have used a little gasket sealant on all gaskets? Everything I read seemed to indicate this should not be required. Looking for advice to help prevent these leaks assuming I tear back down and redo a second time. Thanks
