I have a couple other topics on this Bayou but this one is the reverse lever seal is leaking.

Talked to the dealer and have no listing on the seal. Looks fairly simple but is the seal installed from

the outside of crankcase or from the inside before I remove it.

Next question where can I get the new part? I found these on ebay but not sure if they fit.

any ideas where to buy it? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-KLF220-88-02-Bayou-KLF250-03-10-Winderosa-822138-Engine-Oil-Seal-Kit/352356942519?fits=Year%3A1995|Model%3ABayou+220|Make%3AKawasaki&epid=209928936&hash=item520a1c42b7:g:ZKUAAOSwx6pYooaN:sc:USPSFirstClass!78006!US!-1

Here are the pics, if the seal in installed from the outside just a matter of

removing the reverse lever and popping it out and installing a new one.

If from the inside (hope not) it will be an ordeal. Any ideas where to

buy the seal? Were the ones on e/bay correct?

Ok I know the part.  I am not 100% sure but I remember seeing from the inside when I had my cover off a rounded imprint where the seal sat so I’m going to say it comes off from the outside. Going to need a pick to get it out I would assume.    I can’t be sure though.   Worst case, buy the part and see what it looks like and go from there. If you have to pull the cover however later on then it’s a pain in the as* job.

Good stuff.

Revisit that bolt that holds the lever on after a little riding and make sure it’s tight.   I actually put a drop of silicone on the bolt before a sent it back in.

Let us know how it works out.

Got the seal kit from ebay, looks good. Have a problem.

The clamp that holds the reverse cable by the reverse lever

is mangled. I cant find a pic that I can see well of the clamp.

Can you take a good pic of yours so I can see how I need to bend it back in

place so it holds the reverse cable to align it with the lever and hold it in place?

You can see mine in pic #2 it wont hold cable needs to be bent certain direction. Let me know

Thanks Az

i am not home now I will send one later on today.   I’m sure you can look up images on line. I think the part number is G119 but I’m not 100 percent sure.   Look it up on YouTube also there should be a video showing an image of what it looks like.

Did this item you purchased fit your bayou? I have the same leakage problem and I thought about buying this kit that you mentioned, could you share the link if it is not this one?

Hope it works out for you. Az

As soon as the parts arrive and I change, I notice, from what I saw I will need 3 retainers and I will try to find them here in Brazil. As soon as I make the exchange I show the progress here, including photos: D

As the title says, I've got a crankcase full of fuel / oil to deal with and figure I'll just start from the top and move through the system.  Going to start with a rebuild of the petcock and then the carb if the problem isn't fixed with the petcock rebuild.  I figure I'll go with a Moose kit unless others with experience recommend another brand (All Balls, etc.)
      Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Howdy ya'll. I am working ona 2000 Yamaha Breeze 125. It was in rought shape when I received it and I am working through issues as they pop up. The quad had been sitting for years. I was able to get her running again, but I need your help with the following issue:
I don't trust the transmission yet and I don't want to make problems any worse. So, I haven't pushed things hard at all. Low rpms, less than 5mph in reverse.

      Nuetral: Runs as expected
Reverse: She seems to be driving fine at slow speeds. Going into reverse at idle is fine, coming out of reverse back into neutral won't work (the shifter is just stuck). As soon as I turn off the quad, I am able to shift around without any issue.
Forward: It slips. It seems to only transfer power to the wheels on a smooth surface and going slightly downhill. When shifting into forward at idle, there is a clacking sounds during the transition. Shifting back to nuetral works just fine.

Other Notable Symptoms: There was old oil in the vbelt and when I was tuning the carb, it starting blowing out of the CVT cooling vent at the front of the quad. Made quite a mess. There is positive crankcase pressure due to piston blowby, that I have not decided whether or not I am going to fix (customer budget dependant).  Since the oil was old, much darker than the new oil that is in the crankcase, I am thinking it seeped past a bad seal while it was sitting for years. The oil that was in it when I first got it had gas in it.

Thoughts: I am thinking maybe there is an issue with the clutch. I worry about the old oil intermingling with the dry centrifugal clutch. I was thinking my next step would be to take the cover off of the clutch and inspect it.

Let me know what you all think. Any advice and ideas is greatly appreciated. This is only the 3rd quad I have worked on and I have a lot to learn.

Just some friendly advice on new tires. Check with your ATV dealer.
There are so many aftermarket sites, Revco, Royal Distributing, Partzilla, and on and on. Even with their “ big sales”, my local Canam dealer’s REGULAR price beat the tire prices of the 3rd party sellers! People often assume the Dealership will cost them more, but I found this not to be true!

      Good Morning!
Has anyone had a problem with the small aluminum 90 degree elbow popping out of the valve cover and blowing oil all over the place? It looks like it is simply pressed in and will most certainly repeat the offense. Any experience you all can share with this issue?
      Thanks in advance.
