So my 2006 Honda 350 fm is having an issue where the neutral light doesn’t come on. I’ve shifted into neutral, checked all the fuses, the battery is good and still no neutral light comes on when I turn the key. I found the neutral safety switch connecter and hooked an alligator clip to the green and red striped wire and put the other end of the alligator clip to the negative side of the battery and nothing happens. I put an alligator clip to the gray wire and put the other end to the negative side of the battery. Nothing happens. I can put the alligator clip to the positive side of the battery and the reverse light on the dash will come on. I tried doing the green and red stripe wire to the positive side of the battery and the light doesn’t come on that way either. So neither the negative or positive side of the battery will turn the neutral light on. Only the reverse light works but only on the positive side of the battery. The ohm meter will only read continuity on the gray reverse wire. Not getting any kind of reading on the green/red wire.No continuity just a big open line reading for thegreen/red wire. Is the neutral safety switch brokeN?

Bulb is good just changed it. Just noticed that the reverse light only comes on if I hold either the left or right brake on the handle bars. But the gray reverse wire has to be touching the positive battery terminal and then I’ll hold the brake lever and it lights up.

Had the same issue on a suzuki , reverse light worked but not the neutral, took the "sender" apart and it was filled with oil, so the contacts where burnt.

My advice is to remove it, measure it on the bench first, maybe try and clean it inside with some brakecleaner. Make sure it isnt binding in anyway.

Hi all.  New to the forum & quads.  Seems like a great place full of info.
I just recently picked up a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad LTA700.  I need a battery.  I've been reading up on conventional vs AGM types.  I have a Royal Distributing and Canadian Tire.  RD has 2 types avail for my year/Model a battery YTX16-BS CRANK $75, and BATTERY YTX20CH-BS YUASA $140.  Neither of these is the type from the manual FTZ16-BS.
from what I can tell... I think the only difference is the capacity with the $75 unit rated at 14 AH/10HR and the $140 unit rated at 18 AH/10HR ... which is the rating in the manual for the FTZ16-BS.  How much does this make a difference for nearly x2 the cost?
And about the models/type numbers.... what is important to know ... they all end in "-BS" but are the other details relevant or just manufacturer naming?

Hi all. I have a timberwolf 250 2nd that will not start.. I thought it was out of time bc the guy I got it from said it just quit on him. The tensioner had a nut welded to it and it was like2 teeth off. I installed new tensioner and chain and it still will not start. It has fire and it will not hit off brake cleaner. It has compression. Haven't put a gauge but I'm sure it will crank and run with what it has. I double checked my work and it's still in time. Spot on. Both valves move. I'm about to put a feeler gauge on them and I'll cone back but other than that any ideas?

on my honda trx 500 we have no power to the ignition switch for starting or ignition
we have lights and horn working
      all fuses are fine
have traced through the harness and cant find any broken wires or bad connections
from what we have gathered so far the pgm fi unit is not sending any power to the fuel pump relay to power everything up.
if we put power direct to the ignition switch plug then everything works but wth the key in the off position.
does this sound like a faulty pgm fi unit?
