1987 Suzuki LT80 Quadsport Voltage Regulator/Rectifier

Are there any mechanics out there who have experience replacing a voltage regulator/rectifier with one that is not stock.  Manufacturer doesn't make the part anymore for my 1987 Suzuki LT80 Quadsport.  I can't find a used one either.  Dealer said I might be able to use a similar one, but wires would have to be spliced.  I'm not sure if that would work or harm the electrical system.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would think that if you got one for another older suzuki that you can find in stock, they should generally work.  Just make sure it has the same number of phases.  Usually there's 3 or 6 yellow wires plus power and ground.  If yours has 3, make sure the one you replace it with has 3.  You can still get them for the 250 quadrunner, so that's highly likely to work.

Is this a 1987 or 1997? I know they made the LT80 quadsport in 1997 but not sure about 1987. Topic moved to Suzuki ATV forum.

      Greetings,
Have a 88 LT80 that been sitting for a couple years. Bought a new piston, cylinder and head. Installed these, rolled it over and it quickly locks up.  Took carb apart. It was full of what appears to be 2 cycle oil. Cleaned it, but keeps locking up and 2 cycle oil continues to seap from exhaust port.  When i installed new cylinder, I noticed crankcase was full of oil.  I'm now wondering if that oil is what's getting sucked up into cylinder.  Should there be no oil in crankcase?  If that the case, how is crank and rod lubricated?  Sorry, never worked on a 2 stroke. Thanks!

I cant seem to find what this part is called. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I must be misinterpereting the parts catalog or something? I dont see it in the rear axle section. I think it may be in the rear brake assembly section? click link to view picture.

      Hi guys
My 87 Bear 350 won't start and could use a hand.
Turn key on and Oil light turns on and then slowly fades out. (I think this is key to this) No start, not even a tick.
      battery and connections good
A Solenoid post jump turns it over
Neutral Safety Switch wire attached and seems good
It has not had a wire/switch on Rear Brake Pedal ever since I had it.
Any thoughts on some other things to troubleshoot this??

My king quad 700 runs rough when cold then won't start some times but not often when it's hot. And occasionally smoke's a lot when it's cold I'm guessing that's rings but I'm worried unless it's causing the other problems

      All help is appreciated thanks
