IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!! I just got the ol girl to run! I really want to thank y'all for all of the help getting the 4 wheeler to run. It all had to do with the valves not being adjusted right. There's not much else I can do until my buddy buys the rest of the parts. It's sucking air in a weird way but I'm hoping it's just because I have one of the air tubes off that connects to one side of the air filter box. One of the bolts broke that holds the valve covers on and im not real sure how to go about fixing that.

I have another 4 wheeler I really need to get running, but I'm going to make a new thread for it because there's a lot I have already done.

You can get reverse twist drill bits  to drill the  broken  bolt and  extractors to remove it.  one as small as a valve cover bolt would be a challenge to  drill on center but often  with the reverse twist drill bits the  broken  screw/ bolt  will spin  out without needing to use the extractor.

Congrats on getting it running .. It was likely a combination of all  you did that got it to  start rather than any one thing. most motors will run  with  valves widely out  of spec  as long as there is  sufficient compression. They don't run well but  usually  at least try to run.

Congrats. Getting any machine to run is an accomplishment and a learning curve. On your other machine you know now how to go about finding the problem. Trouble shooting for starting problems is the same for most ATV's and small engines.
Good luck on finishing. As to the broke bolt Davefrombc is correct.

The Arctic Cat is a whole nother story to be honest. I have been over that bike several times, replaced different parts, and still nothing. I really don't know what else to try with it. I made a new thread for it. I spent a good 5 months working on it and still cannot find the problem.

As the title says, I've got a crankcase full of fuel / oil to deal with and figure I'll just start from the top and move through the system.  Going to start with a rebuild of the petcock and then the carb if the problem isn't fixed with the petcock rebuild.  I figure I'll go with a Moose kit unless others with experience recommend another brand (All Balls, etc.)
      Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Just picked up an 84 LT185 ATV, I understand there was an accessory add  on that gave it electric start, anyone have any info about that kit?

Hi guys, I have a 2004 big bear 400. Last winter while plowing the driveway, I heard a loud pop from the left side of the engine. It continued to run as I looked for leaky fluid, but then died shortly after backing it up and won’t start now. The oil light comes on when I try to start it, no noise or anything else.
No blown fuses that I can find.
