This quad was a hot mess two weeks ago when I got it. I've been tinkering on it and have it running pretty good. It didn't have a pull start. I just got one and installed it today. Here's a little video of my first try at using it. Hope it's worthy of a "onya" from Mech! 🙂

Hi everyone,
Outlander 2006 400 XT i have replace the startor cover and right after i did that the oil light is on and not turn off, i check the wires and checked the oil level, everything seem to be normal quad is starting without any problem and rev just fine. i did not want to ride it since im not sure if it is faulty sensor or not so just be safe i did not let it run more the a minute or so.
I have read in the owner manual that i need to clean the oil strainer every 200hr unfortunately i never did that, my service manual that i have does not even indicate of such a thing. so i did some search around and it seem like canam split the manual into 3 parts
owner manual
service manual
engine manual
I have the first 2 but i can not find the last one, part number 219100232. If someone can guide me where do i find the oil strainer so i can clean it i will appreciate it. im going to do an oil pressure test tomorrow to check how many PSI i have, just to make sure.
Thanks

Fuel Injected, 2015 AC XR550XT ATV (renamed the Alterra from 2016 on). 1300 miles.
I had written an earlier post concerning part of the problem, but a new one has arisen...
2 PROBLEMS:
Engine sputters & fails when throttle applied (even from idle and while in Neutral), and, now... Fuel pressure reads @ "0" despite clear line and operational fuel pump. Unit originally suffered fire in muffler - presumably due to engine driveability problem & resulting unburnt fuel... fuel pump ultimately died when starting repairs. Installed a new fuel pump as dealer advised it was the problem. Have now been chasing a proper fix for several months, as, while it generally starts fine, the engine will not take any sort of throttle - even from idle. Instead, it immediately starts to miss, backfire & die. From the beginning, the dealer claimed that a new genuine AC fuel pump was all that was needed. However, the replacement, non-AC fuel pump runs at 42 psi & works fine). NEW ISSUE: Unexpectedly, the first replacement pump stopped registering any fuel pressure (per in-line pressure gauge). This despite confirming both: (a) pump clearly pumping & (b) fuel line - all the way to the fuel injector - clear & delivering fuel. Tried a 2nd replacement pump which, initially, registered pressure (engine performance issues remained). But, when I tried to start it today, no fuel pressure again (and, therefore, apparently no fuel to injector). Again confirmed pump working and fuel line to injector clear & delivering fuel. Engine continues to start easily with starter fluid but, of course, stalls once fluid has burned off. While cleaning/replacing the fuel injector seems the next logical step, it strikes me that, were the injector plugged, I should still be seeing a psi reading on the installed, in-line gauge I've been using (not zero)!
Any ideas before I surrender this to the dealer and a B-I-G bill?
thanx, db

Okay, so I have a 2002 Rubicon 500…bought it last year and it sat for several months until I put a new rear axle in, FINALLY got that done and was super excited to finally have my wheeler going, just to notice a strong gas odor. Popped the seat off and sure enough, pouring gas from the carb overflow. Fast forward a few more weeks and get the new carb and get it in, no leak! Yay. Except now I have no spark. 😒 I’ve tried another plug and checked and am getting no power to the coil pack. I’ve read and read and mostly what I’ve found is ECU, which is fine…but I like to exhaust all avenues before buying the more expensive parts just because I don’t wanna spend the money and it have ended up being something simple that I overlooked because I was trying to rush. 😂 I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I read on another post that someone had similar issues with theirs and it was the sensor on the side of the carb, just a thought since this literally happened after I put the new carb on. It also displays “- -“ on the display screen where it should show the gear position.

Hey Guys, we are looking for some good windshields and back windows for some customers and we came across Flex a fab as a manufacturer, does anyone know about their products?
