Yamaha 600 Grizzly Rich Mixture

I have a Yamaha grizzly 600 that smokes and seems to have a rich mixture. I can't find that it has any high speed mixture adjustment. It came with a carb which was supposed to be new. Would a new carb have such a problem? The float had to be set quite low to avoid overflowing the bowl which could suggest a poor needle valve. I don't know if that related. Anybody know what my problem is?

The high speed mixture is changed by moving the slide needle or changing jets. There will be an idle mixture adjustment somewhere though, perhaps underneath at the front/engine side and facing downwards.

Aftermarket carbies often need some adjusting to get them to run right.

To adjust the slide needle you take the top cover off, pull the slide up, take the needle out taking careful note of where the spacers above and below the C clip go(look carefully, they are different thickness), Then shift the C clip up or down to another groove in the needle. Putting the clip higher makes it leaner.

If you found the air fuel mixture screw I would try adjusting that first to see if it helps, if not then move the needle , on a new carb you should not have to move the needle, this is just a suggestion , all aftermarket carbs should be close enough to factory to run properly for a while. Thats my experience .

Hi, I am having issues with my TRX350D fuel pump.  It suddenly stopped running so I have replaced all the fuses and cleaned all the terminals.  I have fitted a new pump, fuel cut-off relay and rectifier.  Still nothing!!  The pump runs when attached to a battery.  The engine will start on the choke and the filter fills with fuel but it will  not rev and dies when the choke is closed. I have power to the relay but nothing at the pump black/white wire when cranking the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here would be very much appreciated!!

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

      Hi guys
My 87 Bear 350 won't start and could use a hand.
Turn key on and Oil light turns on and then slowly fades out. (I think this is key to this) No start, not even a tick.
      battery and connections good
A Solenoid post jump turns it over
Neutral Safety Switch wire attached and seems good
It has not had a wire/switch on Rear Brake Pedal ever since I had it.
Any thoughts on some other things to troubleshoot this??
