13 sportsman 550 eps gear indicator not working

Recommended Posts

Yeah inspecting the wiring is a good start..  Check the fuses. Check the wiring for anything chafe or unplugged, then get the manual and start reading.

It uses a CAN digital communication system and the various computers onboard all communicate and record any problems. The communication is all along two wires and each computer recognises it's own messages and responds to them, we can't test for communication with a test light or multimeter. We can test the units are connected, but we can't read the digital signals.. we have to use the polaris software on a laptop or rely on the stored trouble codes we can get out of the dash to diagnose problems.  The trouble codes are only an indication of a reading that is out of range and doesn't necessarily mean the component is faulty, it could be a wire broken, or a mechanical fault causing the bad reading.

Check the fuses and wiring, then try to read the trouble codes and let us know what they are.

2022 Sector 550, 414 miles on it and the gas gauge reads empty.  I topped off the gas and it didn't change.
There is no fuse that I could find.  No access at the gauge cluster.
Wiring on the top of the tank looks good, properly connected.
Could the sending unit in the tank be stuck or broken?
Has anybody removed the tank lid?  Any tricks?
      Any other ideas?
      Thanks for any help,
      Clyde

Bucking started about a month ago and works ok after 1/2 hour warmup.  Today while working on it i discovered that if i put the ignition switch in LIGHT position it runs fine right from the start.
I'm stumped!  Any idea why this could be?

If you had to choose one mod that you couldn't live without, or had to recommend one what would it be?

The 2024 ATVs are out and I was just looking at the websites for Yamaha and Suzuki. The Grizzly and King Quad have come a long way, probably two of my favorite quads over the years. Both of these come with power steering but I almost like the King Quad styling a little more. The plastics haven't changed much over the years either, mayeb a little more rugged. The King Quad racks are more like the Polaris plastic racks (I think they were the first to introduce these) but on a closer look, I think its just plastic covers over the traditional metal racks. The Grizzly still keeps the old style metal racks. I like the display/instrument panel on the Grizzly more.

Thoughts on these two? Here's a pretty good comparison of both 2023 models. I didn't know some of these things like no seat latch on the Grizzly and hydraulic rear brake vs cable. Good video to watch if you are consideting these:
