Yamaha Bear Tracker 250 no spark issue, tried replacing everything

Hey guys, I’m new to the forum. What I got is a 2001 Yamaha Bear Tracker 250, got it as a project on trade and the problem I’m dealing with is a “no spark” problem and been trying to hunt down the cause for two weeks. I’ve replaced the stator, pick up coil, CDI, wiring harness, ignition, coil pack, spark plug, solenoid, battery, etc. and I’m still not getting any luck. Even tried bypassing the kill switch. I also noticed two things on this quad, another CDI under the back plastic by the voltage regulator, and a blue and green wire coming from the motor behind  the foot shift, tried to hook it up but it broke off and I’m thinking the broken wire would cause it to have no spark, if not then I need someone’s help on this and wanna see if I can get spark again. If anyone knows why I have this problem, the help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds interesting! Everything you have replaced should have you sparking, the CDI should be by the voltage regulator, does it look different from the one you replaced, there arent 2 CDIs unless it was rewired and previous owner didnt remove the old one.

I’ve got a new one coming in the mail and I hope that’s the problem

You should start testing the components for the ignition system. I'd start with the stator and check the resistances at the engine plug and then again at the cdi plugs to make sure all the wires are intact and connected to the right pins at the cdi. Then I'd also test those same wires at the cdi by checking they are getting some voltage when the engines cranked over.

Have you got the service manual and wiring diagram ? And is it for the exact year and model, because yamaha change things a lot, and does the book look like what you are seeing in front of you on the bike ? Are the wires the right colour, does the stator plugs and cdi plugs have the right number and colour of wires ?
