Hi guys, I really have my hands full here with my 2014 Polaris Sportsman 550 X2, Is it possible all these issues can be related and traced back to something electronic? Its so confusing because sometimes the PS do work, sometimes the 4 wheel drive do work, sometimes the ATV starts at the turn of the key, other times I have to cross out the starter solenoid to start the ATV, Sometimes the 4 wheel drives works fine in reverse, other times only in forward, then other times no 4 wheel drive at all (meaning i can see the front drive shaft going into the front end and its turning but neither wheel is pulling, then other times only 1 wheel is pulling) Would a faulty voltage regulator cause these issues? I hate to pull my front end off the ATV if its something electronic! I cannot simple replace the EPS unit unless i was 100% sure it was quit. But when i see that it works sometimes, I'm not convinced that the unit needs to be replaced, and especially when all these other issues are in my opinion electrical related. I have tried to clean all the plugins that i know for............ Is there anything I can do to figure this out?
Any suggestion is MUCH appreciated.
Thanks

Okay, so I have a 2002 Rubicon 500…bought it last year and it sat for several months until I put a new rear axle in, FINALLY got that done and was super excited to finally have my wheeler going, just to notice a strong gas odor. Popped the seat off and sure enough, pouring gas from the carb overflow. Fast forward a few more weeks and get the new carb and get it in, no leak! Yay. Except now I have no spark. 😒 I’ve tried another plug and checked and am getting no power to the coil pack. I’ve read and read and mostly what I’ve found is ECU, which is fine…but I like to exhaust all avenues before buying the more expensive parts just because I don’t wanna spend the money and it have ended up being something simple that I overlooked because I was trying to rush. 😂 I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I read on another post that someone had similar issues with theirs and it was the sensor on the side of the carb, just a thought since this literally happened after I put the new carb on. It also displays “- -“ on the display screen where it should show the gear position.

I have a 2002 Arctic cat 300 4x4 that died on me. I was headed out ice fishing and got caught in a snow drift. I got off and was pushing it while using the throttle, I was making good progress until I heard a "click" then it died. ATV hasn't made a noise since. It had fresh oil, new battery, and a fresh rebuild on the carb. I am hoping someone can help me get it running again or at least give me a starting point.

New member here,
I have searched here and other places and have not found an answer to my problem. As the title says I have a 2014 420 Rancher that recently started having an issue were the revs before the clutch engages.
I have checked the oil level (per the service manual) and replace the Valvoline ATV 10w40(less than 5 hours) with 10W30 GN4 for good measure. I have used the "pin" method to pull a DTC. I shows a 8-1 which is a TPS error. This makes some sense, as if the computer doesn't read throttle position correctly, it could have this symptom. I have checked the source voltage, and tested the TPS off the quad with a Fluke and a power supply at 5v. It is smooth and does not seem to be a bad sensor. I am confused by the DTC, because the PS light blinks the code, not the check engine light. However, there are no PS codes of that value. This condition appeared after a couple days of driving in the cold (~32°) and driving though some water/bogs.
A couple questions. First has anyone seen this issue, and do you have any suggestions? I have followed the troubleshoot right up to the point of replacing the ECU, which I don't seem to have one on the shelf :)
Second, anyone used a OBDII reader with an a 4pin adapter to pull codes? If so, what system do you use?
Beyond the rev issue, the quad runs and starts perfectly and when it decides, the clutch grabs tight (no slipping)

I recently bought a 94 Yamaha kodiak 400 and I'm enjoying it, but something has got me curious there is a hole in the left front fender by the handlebars that isn't damage its clearly a factory made cut and when I google the same model it has that same spot but with a plastic covering over it. What exactly is this spot for?
