I thought it would probably be the Mikuni, they are good carbs. You may have to get a kit just to replace the gaskets, i wouldnt replace the jets they are OEM. Looking at the photos you sent i also thought it was an 86.

Those striped wires on that reg that look like yellow are presumably white, and their description would be W/r and w/l, l being what they use for blue. That being the case, I think you have got the 1987 230..

R/w mean a red wire with a white stripe, W/r means a white wire with a red stripe.

The carb, if it's original, will have the Id number shown in that other pdf.. Something like 22A00, 18A00, 18A01 or 25C00. I would trust the regulator wiring more than the carb id though because carbs are easy to change, but the wiring isn't.

You are correct that’s what what I’m seeing 1987. I look at the rest of my harness and compared the rest of the wires. Everything matches up

I was scrolling through different online parts house and ran across a part listed for a model G or model H. I thought there was just a LT-230 and LT-230S. What is this G and H. I know S is sport. I do not have a sport. I have the big racks

Get the manual, it describes the differences from the base model and year in the supplement at the back. There are heaps of minor differences, cdi, carbs, body panels, chain or shaft drive.. Those are some I've noticed, there might be more.

Look at the supplement's index, that tells you what the differences are straight away. If the supplement doesn't mention something, then it's the same as the base model.

Looks to be lt250. Utility machine. Maybe 84 or 85. I own a 84 lt185 bought new in 84. The dealer was out of 250 so I bought the185. The next week the 250s were back in stock, bummer. Still have the 185 and still runs.

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

      I Crashed My Quad
Well the Way I Ride, some of you knew it was Inevitable.
      Below are Three Videos.
First one is Slow Motion of How it Happens.
Second one is Normal Speed, and what happens after the Accident.
Third one Follows more of what happens after .

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

      5 broken Ribs
      1 Punctured Lung
      1 Broken Collar Bone
2023 Quad Riding Season is Over for ME!

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks
