Since motorcylcles and atv's don't use a pcv valve to vent crankcase pressure, there is just a straight ventline that goes into the air box, so a little bit of oil in the air box is somewhat normal, if you over fill the oil it will make it a bit worse. Worn rings or valve guides will pressurize the crankcase more than usuall and you will get an abnormal amount of oil in the airbox. If you have tipped the machine over, that could cause oil to run straight through the vent hose. Please post the year make and model of the machine you are talking about.

Did you change the oil recently?

When filling the oil you should check the repair manual for the correct amount of oil. The AC oil change kit provides enough oil for an oil change but not the exact amount. If you add all the oil you will have overfilled it.

Finally some engines check the oil level with the dipstick screwed into the engine and some with it resting above on the threads. If you think this may be the problem I can find the specifics for your model. Let me know.

Has anyone had a suzuki 230 quad lock the engine up?  Its a well maintained bike, it locked up when my son was riding it. Pulled the plug, it has connected with the piston. I'm thinking the con rod let go.  I don't have a service manual.  Does the engine need to come out to check further?

I hadn't driven my Kodiak for a two months, and since it was low on fuel, the first thing I did was filled it up to maybe 7/8 full. Getting ready to start it, I rotated the fuel selector switch to "on" and within seconds I smelled and saw fuel dripping onto the floor. I quickly turned it off and the fuel gradually stopped - I can repeat this.
The fuel is flowing from the hose that is connected to the bottom of the carb, and routes around to the left side toward the wheel well. Any idea what's going on here? It ran fine the last time I had it out.
      Thanks...

Does the 1987 moto 4 350 have a low oil sensor that kills spark? Or are these too old for that kind of thing?
