We live in New Castle, just past Glenwood Springs. Right now i ride a Grizzly 350. But next weekend i am getting a new Honda 400ex. I am soooo excited. We have about 6 other ATV's. My man rides a KFX450. Ande we have a few other utility machines.

We ride both in the mountains of CO and the sands of UT.

Actualy we have not riden on that side of the mountains yet.

I just got her today after a verry long and gruling day.

So a long story short is

We did not go to Arizona like planned. We drove to Fort Collins on Fri Night. Sat morning went over to Fort Collins Motor Sports, where they were holding a Suzuki 400 for us to look at and ride, well they sold that one. but they have a nother one but for more money and must have 1000. down firm not exceptions!. . . . . NOPE! SEE YA!

So to Lovland, greeley, boulder and finaly Thornton we went. to end up getting the same Honda that was down in AZ but less money and a lot less driving. So we call Fort Collins Motor sports, out of courtesy, to tell them we will not need the suzuki, "well" Ryan says. " what if we did $700. down do we have a deal then?" WTF earlier it was $1000. down no exceptions and now its "lets make a deal" ?

so moral to this story stay a way from FORT COLLINS MOTOR SPORTS they will rip you off.

Sorry it was so long.

and i can't wait to ride my new quad tomorrow!

Just thought I'd start a new thread for newbies to the site!
If you're new here, tell us who you are, where you're from and what you ride!!!
Lets get to know each other a little better shall we?
I'm not new to the site, obviously, but...

I’m looking for a top end kit for a Yamaha. I would like to see how well the engine runs before spending $6-$7 hundred on oem. Niche has complete kits from $1-$2 hundred.  Anyone have experience with Niche or similar Chinese companies?

I'm new to the mechanics of riding. I've ridden quads and love it, but I've never really owned one of my own. I bought this quad in pretty rough shape and have been slowly restoring it. I'm almost ready to kick it over, but I'm doing a little research before i add fluids. I'm wondering what kind of oil i should use. I know the specs call for 10w40, but with the age and brand of my quad I'm curious to hear an experienced opinion. And since I'm just getting started with this forum, I don't have access to the service manuals yet. Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated! Thanks and happy riding!

So my latest wheeler is a 04 Yamaha Bruin 350. It had all the wires cut from the stator and a few others and no wiring harnesses. The previous owner had them all twisted together and the bike neutral light would come on it would start (hard to start) but then would idle fine. It would die when you gave it gas so I soldered all the wires together and went on inspecting assuming it was a carb issue. Later after the carb was cleaned and adjusted I got this (see video). The bike would want to die anytime you gave it gas and there would be this horrible knocking sound but only when you gave it gas. I was worried it was the rod bearing and electrical still messed up somehow.
Upon further inspection of the wires coming from the stator there was a W/R wired to R and a R wired to W/R. I switched them so they matched per the service manual (W/R to W/R and R to R) and the bike started right up, idled and revved out fine and the knocking noise disappeared. This was the problem the whole time. It was just really hard to tell bc the oem wires coming from the stator were so brown and dirty I could barely make out which was which.
Where the hell did that knocking noise go? and what was causing it?? Just racking my brain trying to figure out what it was so I know for next time but I can't make sense of it... Really thought it was the rod bearing but it didn't make the noise at idle so I was questioning it...Luckily I kept searching!!
