Metro Atlanta GA in the house!

Hello from Kennesaw GA. I have a 1999 Polaris Magnum 500 that I am slowly repairing, piece by piece. My brother and I share it and every time I want to borrow it for a while I get it and have to fix something. By the time I get it fixed, he wants it again. So far new battery, new starter solenoid, new rear brake seals and bolts, this week I'm overhauling the front brakes. I've never done this kind of work before but I figure if I can take it apart, I can put it back together! -JerryC

Just remember you can always take a few pics to review if needed. I had never worked on a quad myself before I had to swap out my frame and rebuild my front diff the good part was my frame replacement was almost a complete quad it's self so I had parts every where in the garage. I have been riding it for a long time now and nothing has fell off yet it's been about a year now. A shop will get about 80 bucks an hour I rather learn to do it myself. And what you don't know someone on here will know and help out.I'm from Marietta, Ga & now in Carrollton ,Ga

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.

I have a 2016 Arctic Cat 500 and recently noticed some oil leaking on the engine block to the right of the oil filter. It's near two metal lines going in and out of the engine block. I think one of the lines is called an engine oil line. I have a photo I'm going to try and attach. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to start tearing into the engine if I don't have to. I think maybe a gasket or something blew around one of these lines. The ATV runs fine otherwise. Doesn't overheat or anything.

Hello, what is the best method for installing bearings into their race? I've set one in place and tapped it down until it was metal on metal. Is that sufficient? Surely it's not supposed to go into the race until flush? Also. does the coil spring on the seal go into carrier bearing housing not facing out? Thanks! 🙂 Seal goes in until flush correct?
